This hotel was clean and very adequate for our limited needs. It does show some wear and tear in places. And for some reason the water is weird. I would expect to find hard water in the mountains. But instead the water is like a hotel at the beach where it won't let shampoo lather up and feels like it isn't washing the soap off.

Location was great, room was very clean. Close to everything and they even provided a list of local restaurants which was extremely useful. Planning to return in the fall.

Overall it was okay. We booked a king room with a "balcony" and thought we had read creek view. The lady at the front desk was polite and friendly but laughed and said the only creek is across Hwy 19 and isn't visible from the hotel. That was disappointing but no big deal. The balcony is actually the walkway in front of the rooms and it faces the parking lot and traffic.Just understand that it's not a private sitting balcony from your room. The room was very clean, bed was old but tolerable. The noise from the traffic was annoying and kept us awake. The hot tub is in repair and appears to have been out of service for quite some time due to it's appearance. The pool area was clean and accommodating. The breakfast was good and plentiful! Again, staff were friendly, acommodating and honest. We probably would not stay here again, the noise from the traffice was a factor for us.

The wet carpet ride

There was an issue with the refrigerator in the room and it flooded the floor with water. We needed to get about a dozen towels from the desk to dry up the mess and leave towels on the floor to avoid the wet carpet.

Nice area saw a elk walk by at back of property and saw 2 wood chucks/groundhogs on the neighbors property Nice place to visit Maggie Valley Plan on going back
