How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Longwood

Your trip to Longwood starts as soon as you've finished the security checks. Here are a few helpful tips and hints to make sure you get through quickly:

  • Make sure you know the whereabouts of your boarding pass and travel ID. You don't want to hold up the line when you're asked to produce them.
  • You'll need to stop the tunes for a short while. Headphones and earphones must be removed and placed in a tray to be X-rayed. The same goes for items such as heavy jackets and belts.
  • Laptops, tablets and other electronic devices must be placed in separate trays to be X-rayed.
  • When you approach the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to put all creams, gels and liquids in a separate bin for inspection. Make sure they're all packed in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Loosen your shoelaces before entering the body scanner. Depending on what sort of shoes you're wearing, security may tell you to remove them.
  • Pack any pocketknives or other pointy metal items in your checked luggage. Security personnel don't permit these aboard the aircraft.
