How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Delta

Your trip to Delta begins the minute you've finished the security checks. Here are some tips and pointers to ensure you pass through quickly:

  • Be sure you know the location of your boarding pass and travel ID. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to hand them over.
  • Take off your belt, jewellery and shoes before arriving at the security checkpoint. Items like these are not permitted to pass through the body scanner.
  • Laptops, digital cameras and other electronic devices must be placed in a bin to be X-rayed.
  • When it comes to traveling with gels and liquids, all passengers are allowed a quart-sized clear resealable bag to store containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
  • Loosen your shoelaces before entering the body scanner. Depending on what sort of shoes you're wearing, security may instruct you to remove them.
  • Stash any multi-tools or other sharp metal items in your checked luggage. Airport security won't allow these in carry-on baggage.
