Rose Cottage is lovely and we enjoyed our stay. It is very spacious with good quality fixtures and fittings. Whilst the aesthetic was very rustic/luxury cottage, the living room decor did feel a little dark and dreary in comparison to the pictures advertised. It seemed to be lacking some of the advertised charm and was a little tired in places. The check in process was also confusing. On arrival there were two key boxes next to the door of an un numbered property. The neighbouring property had a sign in the window showing the house number we were given so we assumed it was our accommodation, however the keys did not fit the lock. Reluctantly, we tried the door of the property next door and found the keys fit. Perhaps a clear door number on the correct property would help avoid any confusion for future guests. It was extremely hot inside the house for the duration of our stay, especially at night. A couple of fans would be a good idea to have on standby for guests to use at night.At the end of our stay we stripped our beds down as per the check out instructions and I noticed some staining on the mattress protector and quilt, which was disappointing. There was also some crockery which hadn't been washed properly in the cupboard. Whilst these are all fairly minor details and they didnt spoil our stay, I would expect a little more attention to detail in line with the cost/price . Overall, however, we did have an enjoyable stay at Rose Cottage.
