I booked through Travelocity for a Suite with a King size bed, but when I checked in the Front Desk clerk/manager informed me that there was a "third party" mistake and they no longer had any King size beds available. The only remaining rooms had two double beds which I was amendable too considering the late hour. I would have been fine with the downsized room if it were not adjacent to what I believe to be the elevator mechanical room. Throughout the night there was a constant sound of a deep baritone elevator motor that woke me up or made it hard to sleep throughout the night. In fairness to the Omni staff I didn't bring this to their attention so they never had an opportunity to remedy the issue, but if you are ever booked room 724 ask immediately for a different room.

Great location bad room

Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: They need to improve the air conditioner at least in this specific room, and they should discount the cost of the specific room.
Location: The pedestrian mall has everything from bars to restaurants to stores. Very impressive.
The location of this hotel is perfect. You walk right out onto the pedestrian mall which is the happening place in Charlottesville. I've stayed at many Omni's and their rooms are usually quite nice but this one failed to live up to my expectations. I think it was the specific room I was in (701) because it is at the end of the hall and therefore the corner of the hotel. Though it provides two views, the room is misshaped causing a loss of usable space. It also has a queen bed even though I specifically booked a king bed. To the hotels defense, it was the UofV -- Notre Dame football weekend so it and every other hotel in the city were sold out. The air conditioner never was able to get the room cool, and though the room temp was comfortable the fan was noisy on both high and low, so the constant running was annoying.

Great Hotel. Beautiful. Great staff BUT...

Cons: Change all the toilets!!!!!!
This is a beautiful hotel and the staff was great. Location is good too. Very clean and comfortable BUT (women should stop reading now. This is for men only) Guys, I am a normal size person with normal endowments, but when I sat on the toilet my genatalia was in the water!! The commode was low and this was a really gross experience. I would never stay in this hotel again or any other Omni. The toilet is an Elger brand. Whoever chose these toilets must have been a woman. You have been warned!

Excellent Choice in Charlottesville

We are very happy we chose the Omni. Location, location, location--right at one end of the downtown pedestrian mall, with a plethora of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. Rooms were comfy, and the service was excellent. The only nits we had were thin walls (which made for one uneasy night with a noisy neighbor), and a closet door that stuck. But everything else was great, the TVs, the in room safe, the food and drink options, and especially the free parking. A very good choice if you are in the area.
