Baudin Wandagar Eco Tent—Off-Grid Eco Glamping
Summary:
Step into a serene eco escape, nurtured by starlit nights, cosy fireside moments, and nature-fuelled living amidst the enchanting beauty of the Southern Forest. Nestled hillside in picturesque Pemberton, with sweeping views over farmland and forest, this glamping retreat blends tranquillity and comfort. Wake gently to birdsong, savour meals cooked outdoors, and unwind beneath starry skies by your private fire pit.
The Space:
Set amidst the serene forest, Baudin Wandagar Eco Tent is an adults-only retreat designed for those seeking a relaxed, off-grid experience. Redefining the concept of glamping, the permanent safari tent offers stunning 180-degree views across lush farmland, vineyards, and a truffle orchard.
Step inside to discover an open-plan sanctuary complete with every imaginable comfort: relax by the rotating fireplace, unwind in the lounge area, prepare meals in your bespoke kitchenette, or refresh under a rain shower opening directly onto the enchanting Karri Forest. Premium natural fabrics ensure you're wrapped in luxurious European linens and soft cashmere throws.
Outdoors, your private deck hosts a seasonal fire pit and stargazing pad, perfect for tranquil evenings beneath expansive skies. By day, immerse yourself in nature with abundant birdlife, including the endangered black cockatoo, often flying by to greet guests. Staying true to an authentic camping experience, an outdoor camp cooker on the rear deck is perfect for boiling a jug, grilling toast, or preparing a hearty meal. You'll also find a stove-top moka pot for locally roasted coffee and a curated hamper of provisions to get your stay started.
Genuinely off-grid, the tent utilises harvested and filtered rainwater, solar-powered lighting, and USB outlets for charging small electronics only. To fully embrace the tranquillity, there are no TVs, microwaves, hairdryers, electric kettles, toasters, ovens, or coffee machines and the quiet eco-toilet maintains harmony with nature.
Time slows down at Wandagar, inviting you to finally dive into that book you've been meaning to read, listen to the gentle rustle of leaves, or reconnect through conversation. With no Wi-Fi or television, this is your chance to savour slow living at its best. As a working truffle farm and vineyard with roaming farm animals, you may encounter friendly sheep, cows, dogs, or even a passing tractor. For this reason, we are strictly a no-pets venue. Parking is provided just a short stroll from your tent.
A starter pack of wood is provided during the winter months only (June – August). This includes kindling, firelighters, matches, and wood. Axes are not supplied due to safety reasons. Additional wood may be purchased from a nearby fuel station or hardware store.
Guest Access:
Wandagar offers a unique experience in private luxury tent accommodation where time seems to stand still. This is one of the two tents in the area, and you will enjoy your own privacy.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled in the peaceful surrounds of Channybearup, this retreat offers a relaxing escape in the heart of Western Australia's Southern Forests. Surrounded by pristine forests and rolling countryside, it offers an idyllic setting close to renowned hiking and biking trails. The iconic Bibbulmun and Munda Biddi Tracks are just a stone’s throw away, attracting hikers and cyclists who often pause to rejuvenate here. This secluded spot provides the perfect base to explore the abundant natural beauty, award-winning wineries, local food experiences, and serene waterways of the Southern Forests region, while a car is essential for exploring the area's picturesque landscapes at your own pace.

We had such a wonderful experience at Wandagar. The place is very well thought out and beautiful furnished.
We loved the rotating fire place and how cosy it was. Thanks for the lovely stay!
A little slice of heaven in the countryside - what a glorious find!Such a luxurious place to spend the weekend. A stone's through from town, however it felt like we had the property to ourselves.Waking up to the sounds of nature, birds of every description along with some inquisitive cows! The hosts had thought of everything and were only a text away.Loved it!
The couple of nights we spent at the Wandagar Eco Tent were invaluable. Peaceful, scenic, and exactly what we needed in terms of R&R. I cannot express enough ow beneficial this stay was as a break from the stress and business of day to day life. We could relax and reset in comfort with beautiful views and everything we needed. There were a few hiccups but that's to be expected I think when you're 'off the grid' and staying in the beautiful karri forrest. We will be back!
We first visited Wandagar 2 years ago and really enjoyed our time then. We returned again this year for the peace, solitude, comfort, and luxury this gem of a place offers. Mick and Lisa are welcoming and accommodating hosts. The little touches and attention to details made our rejuvenating camping experience truly special and gave us the R&R we deseperately needed. Looking forward to our next visit already. Thank-you for having us.
loved our stay. first time farm stay (other than one i've worked on haha). loved the safari style accommodation and luxury type touches. enjoyed the fact that its also a working truffle farm, so did not mind at all that there was a buzz of activity in the distance. really added to the atmosphere. Mick was also an excellent host meeting us at the gate and showing us to our accommodation and helping out with any needs we required. a Lovely man. will definitely visit again :)
From arrival to departure the stay was perfect. We arrived to very friendly hosts who showed us around the accomodation on arrival. The accomodation was luxurious and views were amazing to wake up to. Great place to u
