We loved our room and the location of the property. The room was very clean with the best view of the harbor. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
This was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. It is perfectly in the center of Chania old town. The staff was so friendly! We were so sad to leave. We will be coming again!!!
Wonderful, stylish, small hotel. The staff were amazing and very helpful and friendly but subtle. Views of the harbour and lighthouse are fantastic and there are super dining options a few steps away. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel had lots of charm & elegance with a modern twist
The staff were absolutely delightful & obliging. We could not fault the staff nor the hotel location & room
This place is excellent. The only minor quibbles would be the standard ones these days, namely the bathroom has a glass door which sounded like it was going to break any second, and the bathroom wall is also opaque so that privacy is not exactly 100% and also if you need to visit the bathroom at night, you wake up people trying to sleep. Also the bathroom door was not exactly insulated, so you get to enjoy the sounds emanating from the bathroom. Otherwise an excellent hotel.
Experience the old Venetian harbour life firsthand
A perfect location at the picturesque Venetian harbour in old town Chania. Comfortable, cosy hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Descent breakfast. Special thanks to the Cretan-Serbian girl Anka at the reception.
Fantastic stay- I was there for a week. Professional, welcoming and courteous team. Great facilities - all is in great condition and well maintained. Prompt, helpful service. The breakfast is exceptional- buffet options and some a la carte selection. Team put great effort and thought into making our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Would highly recommend and will stay here again.
In 30 years of traveling, this was the most accommodating hotel I have ever stayed at. 10/10 all around. There were two women in particular, I wished I had their names, but they attended to every detail of my stay. If they are reading this, thanks again from Ohio!
This hotel is in the absolute best location in Old Town Chania putting you in the center of all the action and the best views whether you like people-watching or staring at the sea. The room decor and amenities were definitely among the best I have seen.
Everyone on the staff was cheerful, courteous and always going the extra mile to make our stay memorable. The breakfast spread was amazing too. We had an early check out at 4 AM and they made sure to send us off with a packed breakfast which was a pleasant surprise.
The closest parking spots are a short stroll away but we didn't mind it at all because you can enjoy the beautiful views of the lighthouse or take in the charming narrow streets and pet the cats on your walk from your car.
We would definitely stay here again to be in the heart of Old Town Chania and explore the countless beaches and eating spots along the coast.
Scala De Faro is an a total gem, right in the Old Venetian Harbor of Chania, Crete.
Lefteris has been extremely courteous and helpful in arranging transportation, rental cars, suggestions of authentic Cretian Cuisine and the local hot spots.
The room has an incredible view of the light house and our patio opens up to the beautiful harbor. The design of the room has clean lines and a modern feel. The beds are extremely comfortable and are promptly made up when we left for breakfast. The housekeepers are polite and left our room looking pristine. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an elite boutique hotel with the local charm in every employee. We can't praise Lefteris enough for making our stay in Crete, one of our most treasured memories.
Renovated hotel. Destination and staff disappoint.
Newly renovated boutique hotel. It has a very nice view from the hotel room. The small number of rooms make it personal but nothing we would return to ourselves.
1) The historically rich harbor of Chania is a complete "tourist trap". Even off season, as our visit, there are too many tourists and annoying businesses around. Waiters on the front row restaurants pull your clothes when passing them. Curse on you if you aren't interested. Plenty of small shops filled with tacky souvenirs. Lots of weird music (Arabic nightclub?) kept us awake most nights. Playing all night until 6:30 in the morning. We experienced there is a lot of trash on land and water from both tourists and local business. Little thought is spent on the environment in general on this Island.
2) The hotel has an appealing design but many things lack functionality because of it.
3) Front desk staff feels inexperienced. They have poor social skills to make guests feel special. Unable to provide a decent "concierge" service. Breakfast staff was however very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately this holiday destination and this hotel is nothing we would recommend anyone seeking top quality on their vacation.
