It was situated in a great location, we walked to the main Clarke quay area by the water. We walked to Hoang Lim and Chinatown. These weren't long walks, maybe 15min, but loved that all the areas we wanted to see were all in a walkable distance from the hotel.

Great Location, Awful Soundproofing.

The pool was v nice. Great location close to China town and Clarke Quay. V small room, tiny shower room but bed comfy. Fine for one night but no room to unpack or store cases if staying longer. Main problem was the noise. Zero sound insulation so constantly being woken by people in corridoors or other rooms. We had a terrible night's sleep. As my husband put it, you could hear a mouse fart 3 rooms away. Will not stay here again for this reason.

Very noisy especially during the night. Doors have no acoustical properties. Public transportation is too far. Swimming pool is great but umbrellas do not work .

The accessibility to Chinatown area is excellent, just a 5-minute or so walk away. I like the hotel's emphasis on sustainability: the public areas are actually open air, so this is a nice change from the closed-in A/C environments usually found in hotels. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and very accommodating in allowing me to store my luggage while out sightseeing. My only two negatives were the high room rate, and the breakfast buffet choices were more limited than expected.

A good place to stay

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express for a business trip. The location is convenient, less than 10 minutes walk from the Chinatown subway station. The check-in and check-out was fast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and new (it appears to have been renovated not long ago). The bed was very comfortable. The negatives: room was a bit small. The breakfast (though free) was pretty bad, the same stuff everyday and not very appetizing. But all in all, I will probably stay again for the convenience and cleanliness.
