The location offers all the best. Placed in the center of the town, not freestanding and detached from the other houses, our home overlooks an intimate garden, while at the same time it offers you a taste of local life and easy walks for your shopping. Excellent is the local production of wine. Don't forget to taste the world renown 'Corvo, Duca di Salaparuta'. Freeway connection, located 200 meters away, will allow you to quickly connect, explore and discover remote areas of the island.
ABOUT SICILY: Sicily is the largest and most important island in the Mediterranean, it extends for 25,460 sq km. Planes of fertile red soil, excellent for the cultivation of vine grapes, citrus orchards and olive groves, alternate with hills, green in spring for the cultivation of wheat and, among the majestic mountains, Mount Etna, the most popular of active volcanoes. The climate is typically Mediterranean along the coasts, with mild, short winters and moderate rainfall.
NEAR-BY CENTERS: Palermo, 1.500.000 inhabitants, capital of Sicily – an island in the sea of sunlight – is a splendid city adorned in the course of 2500 years by Greeks, Arab Emirs, Norman Kings and Spanish Viceroys; it offers an incomparable example of beauty, history, culture and traditions to excite the mind and the eye. It has a wide selection of museums and entertainment. Casteldaccia is well connected to Palermo by freeway and by public transportation. Close-by centers are: Santa Flavia and Solunto, with its Graeco-Roman archaeological site, 3 km west; Bagheria, an active and very alive town, ideal for elegant shopping, with its seventeenth century mansions once summer retreat of the Palermitan aristocracy, 5 km west; Porticello, a delightful fisherman village, 3 km west; Aspra, another unspoiled fisherman village, 5 km west; and Altavilla, with its Sanctuary to the Holy Mary, 2 km east. All are offering plenty of tourist attractions.
EXCURSIONS: Casteldaccia is east of Palermo, so you will be closer and will not meet the city traffic when driving for a day trip to Cefalu`, Taormina, Mount Etna, Siracusa, Agrigento, Selinunte. We recommend excursions to: Palermo e Monreale (20 km), Cefalu` (50 km), Segesta, Agrigento, Madonie Natural Park (80 km), Taormina (200 km), Mount Etna (200 km), Siracusa (250 km), Eolie Islands. _____________________________________________ VERY OLD TESTIMONIALS FROM OUR GUESTBOOK - GARDEN SUITE

The house was oldfashioned, but it was very charming with a lot of history behind it. The manager Giovanni was very friendly, and the owners of the house (Riccardo and Maria) were also very kind and gave us a warm welcome in their house.
An incredibly great week in the Palermo area comes to an end.
We have enjoyed every second in this wonderful house and thank you very much.
Rarely have we seen such a beautiful garden. A true oasis!
Giovanni and Sylvia are incredibly friendly and always there for you.
Thank you for everything guys!
This place is one of a kind. Shaped by architects and artists, there is something to delight on every side. The most prominent feature is the huge garden filled with edible plants and trees. There are two spacious tables, one of them in a magical hidden corner.
The kitchen is fully equipped to make any mean you fancy. Every bedroom is different in furnishings.
the location is near a delightful town square off the beaten track. We cannot speak too highly of this Sicilian gem.
Giovanni is the manager of the property, ever available when you need him. The house is a older property but a glimpse of Sicily from a prior time. Very well equipped , great AC , huge lounge, excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds, Huge garden; House is located within metres of everything you need, Pasticceria machelleria farmacia supermercato panificio ,bars, pizzeria. etc all so very close . Close to autostrada ; I would heartily recommend this property.
We throughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and historic home. The rain prevented us from site seeing mostly so we were cozy in our home and gardens. Giovanni was great! He picked us up at the airport and dropped us off at the train station when we left. He was always responsive when we had questions. 5 star for Giovanni and Sylvia. We also were fortunate enough to meet the owners in from Vancouver. Lovely. Thanks from the gals from Texas. ARRIVEDERCI!

Fantastic place and owners
The property is located in a small town and it looks quite ordinary from the street, but as soon as you cross the gate you fell like walking into a different world. There is this amazing big garden and the villa is a very uniquely designed and decorated. We arrived in a very early morning hours but the owners waited and greeted us on arrival. The accommodation is very spacious and there is this big roofed terrace with separate shower and dining area as well as barbecue and outside lounging set. We spent amazing time in there. The villa is located close to various restaurants, supermarket, bakery and patisseries where you can get all the traditional sweets and of course gelato. The owners- amazing people- friendly, helpful, very hospitable. I hundred percent recommend the place.

Not just a holiday, it was an experience!
From the moment we arrived at Castledaccia train station I knew we'd made the right choice with this place. A warm welcome from Maria and Alessandra followed by a excillerating ride up the hill in Marias vintage VW Beetle started our holiday in earnest. This is the most relaxing holiday home I've been to, its got everything you could need, spacious comfortable bedrooms and a great outdoor seating area where we spent many hours relaxing. The accommodation included basics like soap, tissue, washing powder and kitchen condiments this helped us feel at home straight away.
Our hosts struck the perfect balance between being available for advice and assistance with any of our needs and never intruding. Their help is genuine and forthcoming which is great when you're in unfamiliar territory.
After a few days exploring Casteldaccia and trips by train we built up the courage to hire a car and Riccardo was most helpful with organising this.
We picked up a little Fiat Panda from Frank at the car center in Casteldaccia which allowed us to see highlights such as Taormina and Erice. Frank was a pleasure to do business with. If you don't like walking get a car!
This isn't a touristy town, its the real deal. The best gelato we had in Sicily, was here in Casteldaccia. Fantastic value bakerys restaurants and takeaways, just a short walk.
We especially enjoyed the day when Riccardo and Maria made fresh pesto and passata in their little garden kitchen and allowed us to join in the fun.
Coming from rainy Ireland it was a treat to relax in the beautiful garden, a safe place for the kids to play surrounded by fig trees, lemons and grapes.
After two weeks, there were still places left to explore.
This place was everything we hoped it would be and then some.
Both us and our kids loved our trip and will go home with great memories for life.
Thank you so much Maria and Riccardo
Steve, Roisin and the girls
Fully equipped, beautifully decorated, comfortable and conveniently located, this house was an excellent fit for our adult family!
We enjoyed the local amenities including bakeries, wineries, a local pottery store and interesting shop items as well as the close proximity to Palermo and Cefalù.
The Alta Villa Beach was our favorite beach retreat. The salt water was cool and refreshing and the beach rocks were smooth and sun bleached in many shades of red.
Nearby Cafe 113 was an excellent restaurant and bar located close to the Corvo Winery. We also enjoyed the flavors at the popular Ratundo restaurant.
We tried a cooking class with Antonio in Palermo at the Domus Kitchen during our stay and enjoyed the flavors of Sicily from bruschetta and mussels to halibut and limoncello!
The house in Casteldaccia provided a perfect ending to each day with comfortable bedrooms, operational bathrooms and countless comforts of home complimented by family touches and photos and beautiful antiques.
Thank you Maria! Everything was perfecto!

Truly unique, unforgettable place to stay
Maria'a house is absolutely fantastic! It's spacey yet very homelike and comfortable. Even though it were only us two we didn't feel we had too much space. The personal and unique decor made us feel as we were living in a cozy art museum - and at home.
The kitchen was much more functional than we expected, we prepared most of our meals there. The super good ingredients that we bought from the town supermarkets made our normal everyday chow taste special.
The beds are really sturdy and good to sleep on. For us an extra treat was the multitude of desks, so writing and doing homework and such was enjoyable.
But what would it be without the huge, lovely garden! In the middle of the lively and busy Casteldaccia we had our own private garden of Eden, with the palm, lemon, orange and other trees and birds to go with them, doves, blackbird, robin... You have to see to believe it.
In Casteldaccia there are many restaurants to choose from, our favorites were Mogavero and Triskele, both just a short walk away. The exciting and interesting Palermo is so close. We'd recommend to go there by train, easy and inexpensive.
We didn't meet Maria herself but kept in touch through email. She is an easygoing and flexible hostess with sense of humor and obviously a great taste. Her representative in Sicily is the friendly and considerate Alessandra whom we could trust fully, we felt totally secure. She was always available but never intruding.
Maria's house was a sanctuary for us for five months which we will never forget. Grazie mille!

Cozy place with beautiful garden
Very cozy place in the center of Casteldaccia and we really enjoyed our stay in the summer.
We had a car to travel around, to the beach in Casteldaccia, Cefalu, Bargeria, and the train station, from where we took the train to Palermo.
The place was clean and the tiles/ pottery used in the house were very nice. We especially liked the animal zoo tiles in the 1st floor bedroom, where our daughter stayed.
Maria and Riccardo were very friendly also to our 9 year old daughter and she learned to speak a little bit of Italian after few days, thanks to their friendliness:)
We recommend the place for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful, bright and clean top floor suite
Maria is an incredible host! She was very attentive to our needs, but gave us privacy when we needed it. The suite is so beautiful, bright and clean with a gorgeous mountain view with a lush garden below. The suite is very quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed! The suite is big enough to fit two couples with enough room to spread out--there is a huge patio with couches and chairs, and a beautiful handmade tile outdoor shower. There is also a smaller patio with beautiful views. It felt very luxurious! I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. It was so perfect!

Beautiful garden oasis in the middle of old town
We had an extremely lovely stay at Maria's place in Casteldaccia. From the outside, it looks like all the other houses and you would not know that there is a lush garden oasis hidden behind the doors. The garden space stretches down the whole block and is like being in your own private botanical gardens! It was so lovely to sit in the garden or start the day with some fresh coffee on the patio (with some fresh bread from one of the nearby bakeries of course). The house itself is quite nice and has lots of space, intriguing decor, and all the essentials needed for a home base. All the basic shops you would need are nearby, within walking distance. The local beach (short drive) is quite beautiful and there are other spots to swim in the area. We did a couple beautiful day trips north of Palermo while based out of Casteldaccia. Overall, we had a truly wonderful time and hope to get to return some day.

Lovely home base near Palermo with great amenties
The Garden Suite was a fantastic home base while exploring northwestern Sicily. We loved the apartment and the garden; it was great to have a nicely equipped kitchen in which we could enjoy morning coffee and pastries from lovely pasticceria across the street. Parking our rental car was easy, and the train station from which we did day trips to Palermo was a 15-20 minute walk. All of our questions were promptly answered by the apartment manager. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hideaway!
When researching for a place to reside whilst staying in Sicily this summer, one of the aspects that really helped this beautiful hideaway stand out (besides the price!), was the consistency in the reviews. All I can add is that every kind word said is absolutely true, from the deceptively simple entrance to the stunning garden and home hidden within.
We stayed for 6 nights and from the moment we arrived, felt right at home and ready to relax! The house had absolutely every amenity we required in abundance, everything worked well (including outdoor hob's and barbeque), and children had more than enough space to play, explore and make trouble! Thanks to Maria, Ricardo, Carlo, and Alessandra for all the help, advice and tips about the area. We enjoyed some lovely meals together, and even went to buy some fresh sardines and mussels with Ricardo one fine morning, at the weekly market in Bagheria. The only bad note was having to leave before we seen everything. Oh well, we will just have to go again!
See you soon,
Connor, Emma and family

A Pearl of a Place
I could sum up the experience my wife and I had in Villa delle Palme in Casteldaccia with the cracking open a rough and unappealing oyster only to discover a beautiful pearl within its warm, welcoming nacred walls. Such was the impact the house had on both of us. Don’t be deceived by the unassuming entrance. After having stayed at various carefully appointed hotels around Europe, all made of the same stamp, we had decided to find a place which would exude the original human touch, the warmth of stones and walls that had witnessed life across the centuries. This is what we found in Villa delle Palme as well in the owners
Maria and Riccardo, in their warm and sincere down-to-earth welcome and friendly helpfulness. The spacious rooms were complemented by a luxurious truly Mediterranean garden-orchard. I have highly recommend it to members of my family and to my friends. Grazie, Maria and Riccardo for a marvellous memory.
