Also Granada and the Alhambra palace are well worth a visit. The ancient historical town of Antequera with its bull ring and golf course is only 20 minutes away. Sevilla, Córdoba, Cadiz and Gibraltar are all within easy reach for day trips. Málaga is a lovely city, you can visit the old part with the cathedral and the Moorish alcazaba ( fortress ) which dates back to 1065 or visit the wonderful modern shopping centres. Closer to the villa there are pretty white villages, the lake of La Viñuela is a short drive away and the largest reservoir in Andalusia with its man made beach can be found at Iznájar, 40 minutes away. This is a very pretty area with lots of Olive groves. La Costa Tropical to the east of Málaga is a very beautiful coastline and very traditionally Spanish, La Herradura is well worth a visit.

The villa has Sky T.V. and DVDs but you´ll find it very pleasant to be outside in the evenings eating Al Fresco or playing cards or board games which are provided for your use. There is a large BBQ with worktops and sink and a gas Barbie to be used in summer. You can choose to eat in the shade of the porch or choose one of the terraces with its tables and parasols. The mild winter temperature makes it a great place for a country holiday. The villa has central heating for winter nights and a lovely fireplace in the lounge but you will find with 325 days of sunshine a year you can still go home with a tan.
The children can enjoy the swimming pool and exploring the 8 acres of almond groves and the adults will enjoy the lovely country walks from the house.
Casabermeja has got lots of good restaurants to choose from, information on this in the villa.

Home from home
We arrived at the villa last saturday and upon arrival we were met by a lovely spanish man called Manolin, he spoke very little english but he was an absolutely lovely gentleman. He made me and my family very welcome and explained everything to the best of his ability, he is a credit to Casa Tranquila. Sheila was fantastic from the moment we booked her beautiful Villa always responded very quickly through WhatsApp, and was very helpful with any queries we had. The villa was absolutely spectacular the photos online only tell half the story we were all blown away the second we entered the grounds. Villa was very very clean, and the grounds/garden was beautiful, the beds were very comfortable, the villa had almost every amenities you can think of, the villa is quite high up in the sticks and a car is a must, but for us we loved the private quiet time we had there, so if you're looking for a nice relaxing break this villa is definitely the one to book, we look forward to returning again in the future with family.

Great when you get there
Lovely villa, in the middle of nowhere. The drive , once you come off the twisty , hilly tarmac road, leads onto an unmade track, with bumpy, twists, turns and a sheer drop ..it’s 10 a minute scary drive…when you finally get to the very impressive Villa, with electric gates., it’s got everything you need., great pool, privacy, I would recommend but the drive is something else

The villa was lovely and clean and very well stocked with everything you would need for family self catering holiday. The pool was fantastic but the sun loungers had seen better days which was a shame as we did spend a lot of time at the villa. The villa is situated quite some way from the nearest village so a car is essential. As described it is situated in the mountains and the small tracks can be very precarious once off the main road. It is a very good base for travelling around as the motorway connection is very near to the village. Lots of great places to visit within short distances. We wanted a place to relax and unwind whilst taking in some sightseeing and this hit the mark. Shelia was on hand and in contact if needed.

Superb villa in a wonderful setting
Villa Casa Tranquila is well named, it's location is delightful and relaxing set in beautiful surroundings 5km from Casabermeja. The villa was well equipped and comfortable for our party of 6 adults and 1 baby. Sheila is the perfect hostess and arranged for a cot and highchair to be available. The villa gardens and swimming pool are superb especially for enjoying the late afternoon sun. As mentioned in previous reviews the local restaurant (2 km walk) 'Ventorrillo Patas Cortas' is a delight but as it is only open on Saturdays and Sundays it's best to book in advance as very popular with the locals. Bar Alba is also a pleasant restaurant with traditional Greek cooking and if you enjoy seafood or steaks then go to the restaurant 'El Puerto', both are in Casabermeja. Again as previously mentioned in reviews the villa location is ideal for visits to Grenada, Seville and Malaga. In conclusion we all felt that perhaps we should have booked for two weeks rather than one as there are so many interesting places to visit and enjoy. Our many thanks to Sheila for such a beautiful and enjoyable holiday.

Away from it all in the hills!
Our family appreciated all the amenities in this villa. We loved being able to light the fire in the evenings that are still quite chilly in April. The heating is very efficient also. Car parking is undercover and vehicles can drive into and out of the property without having to reverse. The garden is really well maintained and there is plenty of outside space and a lovely pool, we even braved this on the really hot days - very bracing! It was lovely to hear the birds singing in the trees nearby. The terrain is rather steep immediately around the property but we walked along the tracks to explore the area. We also walked from the villa up to the old tower on the hill one day, the views were amazing. The local tavern, also walkable from the villa is only open at week-ends. It is great for really getting the feel of Spanish life. We had a lovely meal there. Sheila is a great host and will go out of her way to help in any way possible. She made every effort to ensure the track into the villa was re-graded at the start of our visit. There was some heavy rain on a couple of evenings that made the track rather slippy the next day. Generally the track is OK when dry, if taken slowly.

Secluded, quiet and relaxing.
A great place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The villa sits in the countryside however the cities, towns, villages, and beaches of Andalucia are all reachable by car. It is a short drive to the excellent motorway network but the best views and fun are to be had on the mountain roads. Sheila has some very good guide books that we put to use while enjoying a beer or wine on the patios. Casabermeja is a lovely traditional village nonetheless you can pick up all you need from the Dia supermarket on the edge of town. The petrol station is also quite well stocked with groceries. The village also has plenty of restaurants, some on the main street but also some tucked away if you want to stretch your legs around the village. There is only one very old (c.1490), very traditional restaurant within a reasonable walking distance however I still recommend driving if it's hot as it's all uphill. It is Ventorrillo Patas Cortas. It's not much to look at when you first arrive but the owners, staff, and patrons are very friendly and the food is very good with a wonderful smokey BBQ aroma. Unfortunately it's only open Saturday and Sunday however it's worth a visit. Sheila asks that you use bottled water as the tap water may not taste so good however should you forget and pour yourself a glass it won't make you unwell therefore it is ok for brushing teeth etc. Many reviewers have mentioned the track. It's not that bad. Most of the properties in the countryside are old farms. Think long unmetalled farm track. Take it easy and it's fine for any vehicle. Enjoy.

Beautiful villa that lived up to it’s name!
We have just returned from an amazing stay at Casa Tranquila. Highly recommended and accessible to all that Andalucia has to offer. The villa has all the ameneties that you could possibly hope for. The villa is surrounded by beautiful flowers and the views are to die for. The village has some great bars and restaurants and once you get used to the breathtaking track to the villa- it’s easy to nip in and out. We are planning our next visit already as it worked out perfectly for us- go and enjoy!

A beautiful villa with stunning views
The villa is beautiful, particularly the main bedroom suite (the other 2 bedrooms and shower room being on the small size). There are stunning views stretching out to the sea, a lovely size pool and magnificent gardens, immaculately kept by the gardener, Manolo. The terrace is huge and wonderful for breakfasts and barbecue dinners. However, please note that, in order to get to it, you must negotiate a long unpaved, rocky and challenging dirt road. It is also important to note that the water is not drinkable and that the property has no sceptic tank, which might be a little offputting for some holiday makers. In spite of this, the villa offers excellent value for money and Sheila, the owner, tries her best to make her guests comfortable.
