My wife and I were looking for a location to celebrate our anniversary and neither of us had been to Carabelle. Took a chance and couldn't have asked for a better spot for a 3-day vacation.The unit was clean and quaint. Single bedroom, kitchen/living area and a nice roomy bathroom. Front porch overlooks the Gulf and two cars (Jeep and Full-size truck in our case) fit nicely underneath the raised unit. You have nice Wi-Fi connectivity and a streaming tv for movies at night.You are maybe 25 yard from the water with a very narrow beach. There is a long pier available to get you out on the water. There is enough shoreline/beach for a decent evening walk. You are a good 30 minutes from a decent grocery and selection of restaurants. The downsides to this location are not deal breakers but are worth mentioning. You have a hefty staircase to navigate that will give you a workout and not ideal if it's raining. The unit is also close to a highway, so you do get a bit of road noise in the bedroom. Takes a night to get used to it. Lastly, the water pressure is what you typically find in a raised beach house (low) but the hot water seemed to cycle (hot one second, cool the next) making for an interesting shower experience. Again, none of these issues are deal breakers and the location is a fantastic spot. I don't think it's a place to bring the kids for a beach vacation, but it's a great spot to spend some time with your spouse or significant other. Definitely recommend.
