Great family stay

This property was perfect for our family of seven. It was clean and well stocked. The location was close enough to take short trips to Heavenly, Boreal and Northstar.

Decent value for Lake Tahoe. Bedding could use a refresh definitely in the loft area. Central rec area with hot tub/game room was not convenient to walk to. Sauna was not working. Main bedrooms chilly and drafty. Unexpected additional paperwork from rental agency was a hassle and had to be submitted/signed off on at least twice while en route to the unit.

Walking distance to the lake and amenities at the condo were clean and good condition. Only negative was that the bed mattresses are worn out and need replacement.

Super Clean Townhouse!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family spent three nights in the Carnelian Gem and very much enjoyed our time there. It was clean, well equipped and the communication was very clear. We booked with VRBO but do be aware there is an additional security deposit required that somehow we missed in the original listing. A big bonus for our family was the recreation center with a pool and other activities. Only improvement I would recommend is the two queen bed are extremely soft. Maybe need replacing. And one more fan would be appreciated for summer nights. We used the two available but a third would give each sleeping area a fan. A ceiling fan would be ideal in upstairs bedroom.

Had everything we needed in the kitchen and plenty of extra towels and blankets. Perfect location with Kings Beach and Tahoe City just a few mins each way. The people renting were very responsive and quick to get back to me through the whole process. We would definitely come back.

The condo has A/C but it was turned off; Not the most beautiful location but convenient to the North Shore stores & restaurants; All beds are too soft and not comfortable. New beds are needed.

It has been beautifully upgraded with quality materials, especially all the doors and windows. You can't find a nicer unit -- sparkling clean, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, uncluttered (maybe a few too many bears!), well located and thoughtfully provided with cooking/kitchen items. This condo makes any Tahoe visit perfect.

Wonderful ski getaway

We loved our time at Carnelian Woods. We appreciated how well maintained the roads were, especially since it snowed quite a bit as we arrived and our first night there. The unit was easy to find and access from the parking lot as well due to the many lights helping guests see unit numbers. We loved how the fireplace warmed the house easily and quickly with literally a flick of a switch. Beds were comfy and the boys loved the upstairs loft area. The kitchen had everything we needed and the upgraded appliances worked well. There was plenty of space for each of us. Everything was really top notch!! Our only regret was not having more days to stay there.

Enjoyable stay

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Location is great - close to the lake, 4 miles to a Safeway and 11 miles to Northstar Ski resort. Home is clean with ample parking, reliable WiFi, and a well-stocked kitchen with large fridge and more than sufficient cookware, dining ware, and utensils. Layout utilized the spaces well with tasteful decors. Fireplace and balcony are a plus. Living room is big enough for all to gather and hangout. Check in and checkout are simple, with clear and responsive communication from management.
