I stayed 5 nights here, and the hosts Brenda and Gertrude doted on me so much that I felt guilty! They were totally accommodating. They provide a decent breakfast and a nice afternoon tea. The guest house is close to the city centre of Cape Town, but is just outside it so as to allow it to be quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean. The building is an older facility. The outside of the facility could use “a spit and a polish.” The property is gated and feels safe, though you have to ask the hosts to be let in and out. A good value for the money. Wonderful place and people

The owner is possibly the most hospitable person you could want to meet (she dropped in to visit every morning) and the staff follow in her manner. The location is very accessible to both the highway to downtown Cape Town and the International airport. The rooms are ageing but very comfortable, quiet and clean. We rented a car and parked the car on site in a gated area.

Humble place, but good value for the money.

I was very happy with the atmosphere at the guest house, and all in all I was satisfied with my stay. This guest house is driven by the owners in a very welcoming and guest friendly way, and I can only recommend others to visit the place, if they appreciate personality and autencity from the place they are staying. Especially if you yourself is a person who likes to involve yourselv with the people who surround you. The place itself is not in the best maintenance condition, and it is not located in the best place, if you want to be close to downtown. On the other hand it takes only 40 minutes walk to downtown, and 1 hours walk to the water front, and it is possible to shop all dayly necessaries in the near neighborhood. All in all I was happy with my stay, and I give the place an honest recommendation.

Not what I was expecting from a 3 star rated establishment. The room was the major disapointment. Very basic and poorly equiped. It is understandable that the building is a heratage siteand no major structural adhancements can be made.

Excellent staff who were extremely helpful and went out their way to accommodate requests and address issues. The decor is old fashioned and the maintenance is suboptimal. The location is excellent and their is a wonderful view from the spacious verandah.

Days in Cape Town

The service was fantastic. The breakfasts were wholesome and made to order. Wen I returned from a day of sightseeing, I was brought tea and treats.

Enjoyable and safe stay in District Six

Chose this guesthouse due to free parking and safe location. Really enjoyed our stay in Cape Town. The place is slightly run down but beautifully furnished. Very hospitable staff. Breakfast was good (eggs, yoghurt, cereal, muesli, fruits and cakes). Even had snacks in the evening laid out for guests. Bathroom ceiling was slightly mouldy and floorboards slightly creaky but overall the positives outweigh the negatives. Used the laundry facilities but I think it's overpriced (also lost one sock).

Great service; good price, local flavor

A refreshing break from soulless chain hotels. Between the owner, Faiza, and the manager, Brenda, the service was excellent and the full breakfast (cereals, yogurt, custom-made eggs, toast to order and more) very good. One example of the personalized attention: We were upgraded to a bigger room when a jetlagged baby in the room next to us cried through the night. Rooms are quirky and bare bones, (think a communal safe rather than individual room safes), and the immediate neighborhood is not particularly walking friendly, but it's a good choice for anyone looking for a local experience at a reasonable price.
