Misleading View and Not Ready for Guest Arrival
Overall, the property itself is a gem. We had anticipated taking pictures from the property for our Christmas cards this coming year, but unfortunately that was not the case. The property directly in front of the pool, had a huge crane providing a eyesore to the beautiful Mediterranean view. This was never disclosed to us. That was quite disappointing.
In addition, we were to arrive promptly at 4 pm for our check-in. When we arrived, the house was not even close to being cleaned and ready for us. We were asked to come back in an hour. We left, went to the store for some groceries, and returned by 5. The house still was not ready. Needless to say, this was not acceptable. We attempted to get a portion of our money credited, but the management would not even consider it. A good part of our evening was spent waiting for the house to be ready, trying to negotiate with the management company, and just trying to get settled.
Steps were also an issue. If anyone travelling has an issue in navigating steps, this is a challenge. Probably at least 20-25 steps up to the main living area. This is quite a challenge when lugging heavy luggage and groceries. Also, the main bedroom on the very top floor does not have a bathroom on the same floor. Must go down about 10 stairs to get to a bathroom. This bathroom had a bathtub, but no shower.
The main bedroom area where there were three bedrooms with accompanying bathrooms and showers could all be closed off and air conditioned. There was an additional apartment-style bedroom apart from the main living area on a lower floor including bathroom, shower, and small refrigerator. This area was also not air conditioned.
Regardless of all of this, we were in Mallorca. A beautiful setting despite all of the problems with this rental. I will return to the island again, but would probably not stay at this location.
