We travel a lot and first time at Royalton and this is the first time we felt uncomfortable with the majority of the staff being rude and not courteous. We definitely said thank you to the few that were nice. Unaware with original booking upon check in asked to pay required daily tax upfront. Arrived when dark and no lights in hallway to room and elevator out of order. This resort is not fully adults only. The hideaway is very small and shared with family side at beach, restaurants, pools and entertainment. Our room was not cleaned on the second day and had to ask 3 times to restock the refrigerator with water. Also, this is not a fully stocked mini bar, only 2 small beers. Had leak in bathroom sinks and took numerous requests to get fixed and still leaked. The beach was an unorganized mess, not enough chairs and very crowded, cushions were filthy, torn and worn out and towels were very old and faded. Only can sign out snorkel gear for half hr and only had one pair available so couldn't snorkel together. Rooms are run down and back to main entrance to lobby and heard lots of commotion delivering elevator parts on crates. Sports bar over 1 hr wait for food, no pretzels, no beer during big game. No coconut martini at main bar. Overall, not sure we will recommend to friends wanting to visit in August.
