Initially we were questioned as to whether we were in the right place by the extremely rude front desk person. We let that go, and priceeded to check in. He pulled a jeybcard premade for a room on the second floor, ince walking in to that room we felt like we had been handed the crappiest room in the hotel. It was musty, smelled of cigarettes, had no safe and LOOKED NOTHING like any of the pictures. We immediately went backndownstairs to complain, which we we ridiculed for complaining, however, given a much better room. It is in the heart of city central, you will not be treated like a welcome guest in that area. We did not feel welcome in the bar next door and the restaurants will harass you for service. Overall awful experience.

Three stars if you expect less

Pros: The breakfast room.
Cons: Hospitality and service.
Location: Steps away from the Grand Place; minutes from top Brussels churches, museums. galleria shopping.
The sub-bar facilities and services at this hotel may be best exemplified by its FALSE claim to provide laundry and dry cleaning service for its guests. We were told that if we dropped off clothes before 9 a.m. Oct 4, we would have them back clean and folded that evening, This was important an amenity to us, which we emphasized to the front desk staffer when we dropped off our bags of clothing --which he insisted we itemise and sort-- before 9 p.m. October 3. When we returned to pick up on the evening of Oct 4, the desk manager scrolled through his computer, said the cleaner the hotel worked with had gone out of business, and handed us back our dirty clothes. No apologies. No returned call or apology from manager. The front desk man feebly claimed someone had called our room. No one had; our son was sick in bed there all day. There were no messages on our phones or in our room. The Floris Hotel Arlequin's single strength is its location -- if you don't mind the fact the facility is on a grimy street, strewn with trash bags, adjacent to seedy bars and clubs whose patrons yell and shout at one another throughout the night. On the first night of our stay, it was so loud outdoors it was impossible to sleep. The "superior room for three" was bare-bones, and cramped. The front desk staff were friendly but utterly unhelpful when asked for such amenities as a ginger ale for a sick guest, or names of local shops or services (a manicure, for instance).
