Hotel with Bed Bugs

I would not stay at this hotel again. One of the three beds had bed bugs. The room was stifling hot and only had 3 fans. Worst hotel during my stay in Europe

Not good at all

Not a good experience at all! This was not what we expected in such a beautiful city as Bruges. They assigned us a room with broken drawers, a flooding bathroom, dusty surfaces, two safe boxes that didn’t work and they didn’t have the keys for, filthy carpet, worn out wall paint, a broken kettle, dirty linen, and more. When we requested a room change they said we were assigned this room because we booked it through hotels.com. The staff was very defensive, but thankfully they changed us to a better room. Nevertheless, the hotel is not like what we saw in the pictures, even the front desk area is unclean. The location is as convenient as any other hotel in Bruges.

My Bruges 2025

The room was spacious and clean and this has made me comfortable. Hot water for shower was available 24 hours which made comfortable. The room was well designed to block any noise or disturbances. I wish that there was an alarm clock. The reception staf was good and helpful and welcoming.

Having gone to five hotels in 5 days, which prebooked on Expedia, this one had the slowest front desk due to the fact that it needed alll the info that it should have gotten from the booking already. Bed was as hard as a board and one lumpy pillow so I didn’t sleep well. Also I got into the shower o my to find the body wash empty and I was already soaking, got out to get some from sink, and realized after, that the towel I used to get out was the only one so I had to use hand towel. It is very clean and has an elevator, but I tried to take stairs down and they were not lit at all. I was only there one night. An extra towel, refilled shower gel and better bedding would have made this stay a lot better.

Cheap, clean, good breakfast

Good base, clean, cheap and cheerful. Excellent breakfast. Only problem - no tea or coffee in the room. Avoid Bar Amuzand near by. Got absolutely ripped off. Nothing to do with Hotel t'Putje but just a warning.

The room was really dirty with bugs on the beds and towels, they didn’t cleaned the room any day and when we asked them to clean it after finding the bugs on the beds they didn’t, they just took the bugs and left without even apologizing. Poor service and no dining.

The location was good: 10 minute walk from the train station, near the city center. The staff were kind and helpful. The room was cleaned, but just generally a bit run down (eg. stained carpet, marks on the walls, etc.). The room was very hot and stuffy, with kind of a musty smell. It was okay if you could air it out, but we didn't have a window, just a door which would leave your room open to an street if you left it open at night.

It was close to many architectural buildings to see. So many food options to choose from. It was a short walk from the central station. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Front counter staff were very helpful and knew the area well.

The service from staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Hotel 't Putje was located close to the train station and made our stay in Bruges incredibly easy. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great value for money.

The location is good for sightseeing and shopping. The parking is conveniently located, however, it is the only option. Remember when using GPS to find the hotel, it is going to take you in to the parking garage. Also, the hotel lobby and elevator smelled bad.

With parking just a stones throw away in the main city parking lot (3.8 Eu a night, 16 for a full day) the hotel was very convenient for using Bruges as a home base to explore the region. Old Europe rooms with new Europe amenities. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds…this place is a winner!
