It was a fun place to stay. It was in a great beach and ocean front and the gym was outstanding. The bedroom was also great - light and modern. I liked the beach bar for lunch and the Grille restaurant was excellent. The other restaurant was not so good. The issue with the hotel is that the staff were not welcoming or friendly. I felt as though I was a burden on them. There were exceptions, but for the most part, the staff were uncaring and indifferent.

I liked everything about the hotel ,it's staff and events they put on. The grounds of the hotel is an historic sight with tunnels built perhaps before the last world war. One small point for me was the price of eating at the hotel. I think it is a little on the high side for what you get.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Barbados from August 12-18. Our last morning started as every other morning had – my husband was up very early and went down to walk the beach at 5:15am while I stayed in bed a bit longer. About 10 minutes after he left I heard a noise and looked up from where I was laying down (on my side, with my back to the door). There was a large woman at the end of our bed, looking over our belongings on a nearby table. She was wearing what appeared to be a uniform – a white shirt with dark shorts or pants. I screamed, and she ran for the door. She took my husband’s wallet – his ID, credit and debit cards, and insurance cards. After calling the front desk multiple times and getting no answer, I started getting dressed so I could go get security. My husband came back to the room at 5:34. We alerted security, who then called the police. Over the next few hours we had our room photographed, dusted for fingerprints, and we went to the police station to give statements. Security was able to access the key swipes that were used to get into our room – there was a swipe at 5:34 when my husband returned, and another at 5:25 when he was still on the beach. The police reviewed security footage of the employee-only exit where the woman ran and confirmed with us that they saw a woman that fit my description and the timeframe. When we got back to the hotel, the head of security met up with us and told us “I want you to know it wasn’t an employee”. Seemed l

The only real concern is the telephone. Hilton needs new telephones; one gets ringing, dial tone and other when making a call--just to room service! You cannot hear the person and also, one cannot just press the buttons on the telephone! Must improve the phones.
