Our sparkling new addition includes two separate spaces. Upstairs: living room, twin bedroom, fold-out queen couch, full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, 1.5 baths. Downstairs: a large queen bedroom with full bath, mini-fridge, microwave and electric teapot for boiling water. Keyless entry is via personal code.
The apartment is attached to our house. We built it in 2021 for Pauline's parents, so it includes all the comforts of home, including individual A/C and heating units, high-speed internet, and skylights with remotely controlled shades. Ceilings are high and there is lots of natural light.
We do whatever it takes to keep this welcoming, spacious apartment well-maintained and sparkling clean. We’ve decorated and equipped it as if for our own use, with hi-speed WI-FI, mini-split A/C and heat, plenty of kitchen tools, fluffy towels and crisp sheets. There is a Pak'n'Play crib and a high chair available if you need one; there's a children's playground about 100 yards down the street.
Jamaica Plain is a hip neighborhood of Boston. All its charming shops, cafés, pubs and diverse restaurants are within easy walking distance of the house; nearby too there are bakeries, a brewery, a library, running and bike paths, parks, Jamaica Pond (actually a 68-acre lake), and Harvard University’s Arboretum, a 280-acre natural preserve and botanical research center in the heart of the city.
You’ll feel perfectly comfortable and at home as you head out from this quiet oasis to explore one of the world’s most interesting cities!
A car is not necessary to enjoy all the great city of Boston has to offer, but if you drive there is free, off-street parking for two cars.
The Green Street stop on the Orange Line of Boston's subway system (we call it the 'T') is just a block away. And bus line #39, a 6-minute walk up the street, will take you to the Longwood Medical area, the Museum of Fine Arts, Copley Square, the Boston Public Garden and Faneuil Hall.
Or you can rent a city bicycle either on Center Street or at the “T” station and ride all the way to Back Bay along the Southwest Corridor biking path and jogging park.
