Not quite the idyllic setting we believed it would be. Most of the rooms are in separate 1 or 2-storey wooden buildings of between 3 and 6 rooms. Our 'ocean front' room was the ground floor of one of these buildings, approached over an uncut long grassy area constantly used by dog walkers to 'exercise' their dogs! Not very pleasant. It wasn't helped by there being no way to stop 'walkers' looking into our room unless we drew the curtains, and then we had no view! Being wooden the floors were very uneven, the closet was just a single hanging rail in the room, and the sink area of the bathroom had no door! Although the towels were changed every day the room was not cleaned at all during our stay. The service in the restaurant was extremely slow. On our first morning we waited over 15 minutes for the server to take our order, and then she came back 15 minutes later to ask us what we had ordered. The food came some 15 minutes after that. On the second morning we gave up waiting after half an hour and left. The third morning we tried ordering in advance, but when I went to collect it, half of the order was missing - we never had breakfast there again. A similar experience ensued in the evening, and after the second night we always ate out. Having said that, the pool area was good, quiet and peaceful. We were lucky with the weather, and the pool was heated, so very pleasant. The area around the hotel is good for walking, with great views over the harbour and surrounding areas.

We had an excellent experience at Bluebird Ocean Point Inn. While the facility was getting ready to close for the season in the coming week, the staff truly made our stay memorable. Especially Jim (manager), Donovan (bar), and Goldberg (front desk). They have seating by the water to watch sunsets and a fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. One nice touch was the smore's kit bucket that was in the room (which we enjoyed by the fire pit - thanks Goldberg for getting the fire going). Jim also made our stay with special with how we were treated and recognized during our short stay. While this was our first visit to the area, we're already talking about planning another trip next year. If you have a chance to stay here - we highly recommend it!

We enjoyed the ocean view and the breakfast was delicious. The only drawback was having to drag our bags up the stairs and for two older women it was a challenge. Next time first floor! Also being at the end of the season they were short on amenities in the room. But I would go back again.

Iconic Maine Getaway

Cannot speak more highly of the idyllic location for Ocean Point Inn. If you want a tranquil and iconic New England getaway, with sunsets over the water, loons in the morning, old New England architecture, and and stunning Maine coastline views, this is your place. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, even though this was the last night of the season. We would love to return.

Parking secure, somewhat difficult to find parking during supper hour. Wonderful room! King bed, porch with rockers was so beautiful and tranquil. Always felt safe, very nice property. Heated outdoor pool, fantastic view of sunsets. Clean room, comfy, staff incredibly attentive.

Best Maine Vacation

We had a great ocean view. We loved looking out in the mornings and it had a great sunset view. We don't have pets but there were quite a few on the property who looked well cared for.

Right on the ocean. A sitting area on the shore is great for enjoying the view, surf sounds and sea breeze. We arrived at night and were unprepared for the multi-building facility. The room was rustic but suited the environment and was clean.
