About this property
Blue Heron's Nest-Glamping Tent in the Gorge w/ AC
Summary: Retreat to the forest in what's sure to be one of the most unique, refreshing vacations you've been on so far! Nestled right next to Red River Gorge Kentucky, this tent has been designed specifically to make camping feel luxurious, easy, and relaxing! Our luxury glamping tents are thick enough to ensure that you stay nice and cozy, but allow light to diffuse throughout the whole tent.
Our goal is to make outdoor retreats accessible to as many folks as possible - we'd love to host you.
The Space: Surrounded by over 50 acres of national forest, including countless onsite activities and local attractions, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the adventure you want during the day and return to comfortable, cozy lodging at night.
🏕 Important: - Towels are NOT provided at this time - NO private fire pit
Tent #2 (Blue Heron) Ease-of-access Notes: - This tent pairs well with The Whippoorwill's Nest (king bed), which is just down the hill, OR The Vireo's Nest (2 full beds) on the opposite side! - The Blue Heron is a short walk, or drive, from the bathhouse. You will have to go uphill on the way back - We estimate the walk to take around 30 seconds to 1 minute
This space includes: - 1 Queen Bed - 1 Twin Bed - 1 Sleeper Sofa (must supply your own pillows and blankets) - Privacy Flaps - Private sitting area - Large 65qt Cooler (must bring your own ice) - Cots Available (must supply your own pillows and blankets)
Additional amenities include: - Private Front Porch - Canopy Views - On-site Bathhouse (with toilet, sink, and hot shower) - Outdoor Nets to climb/play on - Electricity! - Shared fire pit (firewood not provided) - Outdoor Water Spigot (for drinking water)
Camping in Red River Gorge has never been so easy, luxurious, OR cozy! If you're hoping for a unique, incredibly cool stay, visit and see all that our 50-acre woods have to offer!
You might notice some construction near Tent #7 at the bottom of the hill! We're building a retreat clubhouse called The Rookery; we apologize for any visual or audible disruptions, but work shouldn't happen on the weekend, or before 9am / after 6pm on weekdays.
We're working hard to finish it up and return the on-site experience back to being fully serene and relaxing! Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we continue to grow and improve our space.
** Our tents are semi-off-grid, which means no plumbing or water inside, however, there is electricity, heating, lights, and water from an outdoor spigot. We also have a fully on-grid bathhouse with septic, electricity, and instant hot water**
** NOTE: If you need to sleep more than a queen, twin, and sleeper sofa can hold, let us know! The tent can sleep up to 5 people with a cot added **
The Neighborhood: On most of the 50 acres, you won't see anything man-made. This creates a fully immersive experience for you. Also, you’ll be on privately owned property with designated hiking trails (map included); please hike, explore, and allow yourself to be free!
* There are other guests that you’ll be sharing the 50 acres with, so don’t free yourself completely, if you know what we mean *
The property also has tons of natural features. The tents sit atop a giant horseshoe of cliff-edges; as you explore, you’ll find sweeping, scenic views of our valley, a waterfall, natural rock overhangs, creeks, and acres more of wildlife! If you need to get off-property and want to do some fun, local activities, we’re within minutes of local attractions like world-class climbing and hiking, ziplining, underground kayaking (yeah, you heard us), horseback riding, and so many more things! Not to mention all of the wonderful local restaurants you can visit -- don’t worry, we’ve sampled them all and have listed our top 5 in the guestbook and on our website.
If you aren't familiar with Red River Gorge and the surrounding areas, don’t worry -- we'll send you a list of our favorite off-site activities. We want your time away to be extraordinary!
Other Things to Note: ** Our tents are semi-off-grid, which means no plumbing or water inside, however, there is electricity, heating, lights, and water from an outdoor spigot. We also have a fully on-grid bathhouse with septic, electricity, and instant hot water**

The property looked exactly like the listing. Everything was clean, including the bathroom/showers. Very beautiful area and peaceful but within driving distance to everything we came to do. Already planning a trip back in the fall!!

Convenient Glamping close to all Red River Gorge activities
We had a fantastic first glamping experience at Red River Gorge! The large tent was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for our family. The kids especially loved the spider web playground on the property, which kept them happily entertained. The location was ideal, just minutes from all the fun and adventure at Red River Gorge. This spot made it easy to enjoy the outdoors while still having the comforts of home. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try glamping in a beautiful, convenient setting!
