Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Bad mattress, very uncared bathroom
Apart from the quality of the hotel, the rest of the things were ok, except the breakfast, they only had English breakfast
Will never go back to that hotel!
It was cold the whole time. The electricity used to come and go after every 5 min. When we complained no body bothered to change our room, the water was cold, the kettle wasn't working! It was a worst experience ever.

You get what you pay for
Cheap hotel but also quite poor. Very small rooms, no internet in rooms (in lounge only for £5,00).
As i paid cheap I didn't expect much and that's what I received. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking for the cheapest hotel in town.
From the moment of arrival the standard and level of service was poor ( one exception was a young waitress although she was only there for one of the three days we stayed) Although elderly and in obvious poor health we were not offered assistance with our luggage. The food was very limited, Nothing without chips (or chops as they appeared on the menu !!), and an abysmal lack of variety all round. The "lawn" or garden as they described it, had not been mown for several weeks with pollen producing weeds and grass more than two feet high. This caused considerable distress to my wife's lungs. I mentioned this on our first day,but.....nothing. I really don't want to enlarge any further, but we have had many many better hotels through Expedia.
Room was old, dirty, smelt of smoke, matress didn't fit bed properly. walls were so thin you could hear people very clearly in next room and the couple of had sex loudly at 2.30am. Staff couldn't believe I complained! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a flee.
All looks good in the lobby and bar, but once you go further in, things look a lot worse. The decor is badly in need of an update, and the rooms were basic, and not particularly clean. Watch out for the frayed carpet which might trip you up.

Some good some not so good
The reception area, bar and restaurant are all recently refurbished as I belive are SOME of the rooms. My room was small but very reasonable for the price I paid - if I had paid double I would not have been happy.
I needed a local hotel as I had just sold my house but needed somewhere local and convenient for a few days. The Norfolk was a good choice (for me at least)
I stayed here for a night out in Brum, had good access to city centre. Room was good for the price I paid, very quiet and breakfast was really good! Would definately recommend for a short stay as was cheaper than getting a taxi!!! Staff were friendly and very helpful.
absolutely awfull, had to switch room in order to get something a bit descent with a minimum cleaness.

Straight Forward Short Stay Hotel Good Staff And Well Run
The Staff at all levels were extremely helpfull and attentive to all requests. The Reception, Bar, Cafe & Public areas have recently had a major upgrade and are comfortable &
Modern. The basic rooms are in need of upgrade works as they are now somewhat dated!.
This hotel was fairly clean at reception although was undergoing refurbishment of some of the public areas and the staff were fairly welcoming on arrival. We were "lucky" enough to be upgraded to a premier room but did not find anything premier about it! The room smelled of damp on entry (damp was visible on the walls) and was tatty and dirty - wallpaper and wall lights hanging off the wall for example. The bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together and the sheets and overblanket were both dirty. The pillows were entirely flat and none of this was remotely conducive to a good nights sleep. The TV did not have a reception and the bathroom was fairly dirty with very limited hot water and a shower head that constantly fell off and landed on you. The breakfast which cost £11 if paid for separately was pretty awful, the milk was off, the yoghurts were 39p happy shopper variety and you had to toast your own toast on a domestic toaster. We did get a very good deal for 2 nights at this hotel but I would not return to it if I were paid to be there. My advice - do not stay here.
