Lakeside deck

Pros: The quiet and comfortable facilities, how close it was to the lake.
Cons: The drawers in the cabinet were not very stable, they did not slide in and out easily and would drop.
Location: Very close to Big Bear village with lots of shops and restaurants. Right on the main boulevard with easy access to the town (some road construction).
This was a place that looked as good in real-time as it did on line. It was charming, comfortable, and right on Big Bear Lake with a wonderful deck with picnic tables and adorandack chairs. It was quiet and very relaxing. Upon checkin, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely return. One of the few hotels that had 2 beds available in the rooms. There were individual cabins and a regular 2 story section of rooms.

very disappointed

I booked this cabin for me and family with 2 kids, very excited to get there, as I checked this place, close to the lake and have access to the lake to swim, we arrived and checked in, went to the place, first it was a room not cabin, then the lake was way far and very low because of the drought, can not swim in it all dirt, grass and mud, went to the office told the young lady to refund my money after I explain why I booked here and what I found out is totally different, she said sorry no refund, I said we come here to swim and enjoy the lake, she said yah you can swim if you want, I said where, she said go to the left pass the muddy area, so we went can find any place to swim, so we drove around the lake could not see a single person swimming, so we stop by few guys fishing and ask them any good spot for swimming, and one of them said, no not any more, for almost 8 years the water going down and all grass. so I was very disappointed my kids as well with this lodge for falls advertising, the photos they have are more than 10 years old and does not reflect todays condition at all, so i'm asking the management again to refund my money so I can take my family to a real vacation.

Very cozy cute rooms and very clean! It's like a campground setting but with hotel rooms and cabins!

Good price and good location on lake

Pros- walk to restaurants, lake, fishing, marina next door to rent boats & kayaks, heated pool & jacuzzi, free family movies for player in room, clean comfy beds. Cons-No A/C, floor creaks really loud, I felt bad for people below us, ceiling fan didn't do anything for heat end of June.

Right by the lake and walking distance to downtown

We really enjoyed the stay here. The only issue was thin wall so we heard our neighbors.

Only stay in the single cabins!!!!!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
For one night we were in the hotel section by the lake. These hotel style rooms were horrible. 1. You could hear the people above you and on the sides of you( even when they were whispering) 2. The heater and the bathroom fan sounded like freight trains in our room. 3. Pillows and beds could definitely be better. The second night the moved us to one of the single cabins. Much better, I'll stay here again as long as its in the single cabins only!!!!!

Relaxing place to stay

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Our room had a king bed and a Jacuzzi for two. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. We especially liked: 1. the deck that overlooked the lake; 2. walking distance to the village. It would have been better if they offered breakfast and had a newspaper like most places have now days. We would certainly stay here again.

This hotel made me feel like I was at summer camp.

Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, no breakfast, right off a busy street
The cabins themselves are fantastic! We had a 2 bedroom and it was very spacious, great for 2-3 couples. However, there is only one tiny bathroom and it is downstairs away from the bedrooms. The main issue I had with Big Bear Frontier was I always felt surrounded by people. Our cabin was located right off the main road with cars whizzing by all day. Yes, you can walkt to Big Bear Village, but there are limited sidewalks and no real easy way to cross this busy street. The cabins are very close together and there were quite a few shirtless senior citizen gentlement with pick up trucks sitting out on their balconies, and they always seemed to be looking in our window. Lastly, the grounds seem to be a hangout for the local cabin residents, as when we arrived there was a huge group of guys hanging out at the basketball court, I totally felt like I was at summer camp. This seems like it would be a great place to stay during skiing season, but if you are looking for peace and quiet or privacy in the off season I would not recommend it...look for a nice B&B on the north shore.
