Great hotel, the building has lots of character and rooms are spacious and stylishly decorated with views of the park. Location was perfect with lots of shops and bars in walking distance, close to the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station too if you want to go further afield.
Breakfast was excellent, a varied selection of cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, fruit and pastries alongside hot food.
The hotel bar served fantastic cocktails, though it was a shame the Root restaurant space now operates from the hotel bistro (breakfast area) and had only a limited number of options on the menu. The beautiful atrium space is now for events, as a hotel guest I would have loved to dine there, especially as the atrium is so heavily featured in marketing photographs.
There was a conference and a wedding party using the facilities whilst we stayed at the hotel, which made the breakfast area quite busy, however staff dealt well with this. Overall, a great stay and I would happily return.
