Great location/no elevator

Very clean and conveniently located. My only comment is that there is no elevator and the 3’d floor rooms are equivalent to about 6 standard floors worth of walking. If your luggage is heavy, it might take a while to get up and down.

It is an easy 10 minute walk to the S-Bahn. We were very happy with the location. Beds were comfortable, right across from a bakery and 100 m from Kurfürsten Damm.

Room was neat and clean and good shower. Close to S bhan and buses to city centre.Had to wait for the receptionist to arrive for 15 minutes, as it is a family run hotel so it is good to tell the time of arrival in advance which I had but my flight got delayed and I arrived nearly an hr later than I had said I would. But receptionist was friendly and helpful when he finally arrived. BTW there is no breakfast even if it says breakfast included in the reservation. However there are plenty of cafe's and eating places nearby.

No elevators or elevators not working. Front desk not staffed and you may be lucky to find someone to help you. Entry Keys did not work and couldn't enter the building. Luckily it occurred during the day. Rugs on steps are torn in some place and are a tripping harzard. Room was spacious and clean

Shabby carpets & Tattered towels

Only thing going about this hotel is the location off Ku'Damm. But the filthy carpets and tattered towels and uncomfortable mattresses make you wonder if its worth staying here - despite the costs.

Worst hotel experience

Hotel is pretty old, room not comfortable at all and if you don't have ear plugs with you it's impossible to sleep due to the street noises. Breakfast was horrible, rotten fruits and cold coffee. But worst part was a woman (with obvious mental problems) who was harassing the guests with a huge dog, making a scene at midnight and the owners didn't do anything about it.

The hotel is in the upper floors of a building from the 1890s, with all that implies: 12 foot ceilings, decorated with moldings etc:I like it, but it is clearly not the hotel for people who prefer the modernity of a holiday inn. The elevator is a historic piece where one still has to close outer and inner door by hand; it is allowed for four persons, but really just the right size for one person and his luggage. I found the single room very convenient for me, and the location is also very convenient, a few steps from Ku'damm and bus 109 to the Tegel airport. However, there are some points of criticism: mainly that the person handling the check-in was quite slow; before me were teachers checking a school class in, and I spent twenty minutes waiting in the check-in queue. The elevator was one day out of service, and the hallway leading to the hotel-room is (especially after the big staircase) a narrow dark cave winding to the rooms: it needs at least better light.

Old hotel

We spent 3 days in Berlin. The hotel is very old, older than we thought it would be. The elevator was a struggle to figure out how to work. The breakfast was ok. The weather was unusually hot and there is no air conditioning. The area is good, very close to the fancy Kurfürstendamm, but far away from historical sites so we had to take taxis. Overall was ok.
