I try to avoid the budget motels and such that lack character. this place has style to it. just entering through the large front door into the front lobby is impressive. the restaurant with its fireplaces aglow was inviting. the building is clean and in good condition. I was impressed there is even an elevator to access the upper floors. my room was so pretty. a comfy large bed, chairs, tv, dressers and tables. all very clean. they even provided a little floor standing heater/fan. my only one complaint is that there was no soap or shampoo. perhaps they have it available at the front desk but I didn't ask. parking is also on the street which isn't my favorite but the area is rather nice and well lit.

Very relaxing, comfortable, friendly, by the beach

Some of the most relaxing nights' sleeps I have ever experienced in a home-away-from-home adventure. The staff, Harry, Maureen, and all others were very friendly, accommodating of our needs and made us feel right at home. Rooms were very comfortable with a B & B atmosphere. We extended our stay twice so as to continue the experience.

Overpriced by a mile. No assets other than location. No device to hang anything on except shower and towel rods. Left after first night.

Grenville Hotel

Pros: Location (near train station and beach and a seafood restaurant that I love) and charm.
Location: Please see above.
I am delighted to complete a positive review about this hotel. However, I absolutely resent being forced by a computer program to say far more than I am inclined to. If this practice continues, there may very well come a time when I refuse to provide any feedback at all.

More like a bed and breakfast but not current.

Pros: Location
Cons: It needs major renovations and upgrades.
Location: Great location. Bay Head is a great beach town.
Room had space heaters to keep it warm. Old furniture. Bathroom was clean.
