Hotel is very nice. Great buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Location is excellent. One block from both lines of the City Tour hop on hop off bus. Regular bus stops in front of hotel. Cabs easy to get. Front desk will call you one. Walking distance to the beach area and to El Born district. We were very pleased!

This hotel is the perfect location in Barcelona. We stayed for 10 days and walked to the beach, the port, all through the Bari Gòtic area, and over to La Rambla. For exploring further away, the metro L4 Barceloneta station was only a couple of minutes away and from there you could get anywhere else. We loved coming back after a long day of shopping and sightseeing to sit and have a drink on the personal patio for our room. We will definitely look to stay here again when in Barcelona.

5 stars for the location - easily accessible to various parts of the city. Walking distance to the train station. Staff were great and allowed us to check in as we were really early. Downside is that there was no tea/coffee facilities and you only realise how much you need it, when its not available. We were in Barcelona during the power outage and unfortunately, had to walk back to the hotel from the train station which was halfway to Sitges. We had no cash on us so couldn't take a taxi/bus. When we got to the hotel, they were just as helpless unfortunately. Could have provided us with free bottled water. They didn't even have any temporary light fixtures to guide us as we had to walk up 4 flights of stairs in absolute darkness. Overall, it is a lovely place, perfect for venturing out in all directions..just think of the customer sometimes..and what would you like to be done is such situations..

great location , close to absolutely everything , even the train station, 200 mts from the water front , right on the hottest spot of Barcelona, the gothic quarters, close to la Rambla, Paseo de Gracia, etc, hotel is small but very nice, the breakfast is great, comfortable and nicely decorated, the room was clean and nice but small, that is the only down, a bit tight to place luggage and clothes around but the terrace was great, beds were comfortable, drains in the washroom were not great, seemed that the tub and sink got the drains a bit clogged, other than that we really liked it, next trip back we will stay at the same hotel.

The breakfasts and staff are excellent. The hotel rooms and accoutrements are in pretty good shape for an older hotel. Scarlett and Sekh stand out as great employees. The city should be alerted to the distraction and concern guests have over the street people. They need help and we are unsure of what city or national services are in place to reduce their plight. We would happily return to this hotel for the above pluses and its perfect location.

A smaller hotel in a nice location near to the seafront. Metro station and bus stop are nearby for good transport links. Rooms are smaller and functional, but clean and maintained. We had a room with a balcony which was very nice and gave more space. Hotel staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was good with some nice local touches... including a glass of Cava!

We stayed in Hotel del Mar for New Years and chose a room with terrace. The room is simple, clean and has all basic necessities, bed was comfortable. Staff is very helpful with anything you need (ice bucket for Cava, glasses, call a taxi, etc). The bathroom was large, nice shower with hot water, and several toiletry kits are provided. Our room had a small fridge that we loved to use for orange juice, cheese and wine, it chilled very fast. The terrace has one lounger and a table with two chairs. Ours looked over to the marina and the beach. We saw the New Years fireworks show from the terrace!! Location is perfect, close to many restaurants, metro station close, bus stop right in front. Walked to El Born, Ciutadella, Santa Maria del Mar, Catedral, Barceloneta. I would stay here again
