Honeymoon Cottage - Chateau DuMont

Welcome to Chateau DuMont, The Honeymoon Cottage!

Inside, you will find one bedroom with a King sized bed, en-suite full bathroom with a step in shower, full kitchen, living room with a smart TV and wood burning fireplace, and a large dining table. *NO washer / dryer* Outside, you will find a large courtyard with outdoor seating and dining, and a second fire pit. The courtyard is shared with our other two cottages, the Highland and Hideaway. If you are interested in renting these as well, send us a message and we would be happy to assist!

There is a gentle slope from the driveway to the front door, with some uneven grounds on the way. Please watch your step. There are no steps to access the Honeymoon cottage, and there are no steps inside.

The property is quite special (in terms of the unique decor and the architecture) but not set up for a comfortable stay. The place has a musty odor due to the age. Sadly we were not able to stay at the honeymoon suite as it had not been cleaned before our arrival but the owner was able to let us use the larger property next to the honeymoon suite. The larger space also had a musty odor and the TV was not set up in the larger property. The bed in the larger space was also quite uncomfortable. The dishwasher has dirty dishes in the larger property too. I am typically not hard to please and struggled about whether to leave this review but so think it will be helpful information for others as these properties are not inexpensive

Very Good place

We took the honeymoon cabin. Very cozy and private. Plenty of room inside. Plus all the amenities needed. Kitchen with very well set. Easy access (5 min) to ski mtn. Love it.

Cute and cozy, old world charm

The courtyard access to the suit is charming and welcoming. It reminded me of the Scottish Highlands. The house was well stocked and clean, the stocked coffee bar was nice to wake up to.

A lovely stay in Banner Elk

My wife and I absolutely loved this property! It's located in a gated community, extremely close to restaurants and grocery stores, but secluded enough to feel private. The host is very communicative and helpful if you have any issues at all. Parking is easy and there is plenty space. There are also some good grassy areas around the cottage for any pets you may bring. Overall a fantastic experience!

Beautiful cottage

The cottage and grounds were beautiful. We even saw a juvenile bear running around the cottage. Hope to one day stay here again and will definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
