Amazing property with amazing views!
My family and I, once again, had the most memorable experiences in Costa Rica while having the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Casa de Moses! The images of the view of the whale tail in the listing DO NOT do it justice. It is so much better in person! The place was immaculate when we arrived and had all of the amenities. The one and ONLY issue we had was no WiFi the entire stay. We don’t know what the problem actually was as we could connect to the network with full signal strength but the actual data wasn’t there. We called the property management company and were told someone would be out take a look at it but they never showed. Not a big deal as we had plenty of activities to occupy our time but may be important in case of emergencies. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and you can’t beat the proximity to Uvita. We will definitely book this property again in the future. Tip* you absolutely have to have a 4x4 to get to the property, but that makes it so much more fun!!

Difficult access
This house is beautiful and the grounds are meticulous. Our biggest issue with this property was the drive. As other have said, it is very steep, rocky and rutted. We had a 4x4 SUV and it had difficulty on a few sections of the 3 km drive up. This drive is not for the faint of heart. We did not have wifi the whole time we were there and did not receive any response from the Vacasa representative or local rep regarding this. Also had a short power outage and we would suggest that the guest manual have instructions on how to open the gate if this happens. If being connected is important to you, make sure you have a good data plan.

Beautiful, contemporary, clean, tranquil, safe
Very clean with all of modern conveniences of home. Pool, washer, dryer, AC in bedrooms, beautiful views. So peaceful. The house has an outdoor gas grill with all the accessories to cook outdoors. The kitchen fully accessorized. The only reason I had to give it 3 stars was due to the abscence of internet. The house is wired for internet, but it was not available for the 10 days I was there. I'm okay with being unplugged for a few days, but 10 days was too much. I planned on catching up on some loose ends from work while being undisturbed in a peaceful setting. That was not possible. No internet and thus no TV either. I had to shuffle between making trips to a local cafe in Uvita to get internet and using expensive international roaming. Every time I would show up in town and get cellular data coverage, my phone would blow up with missed texts, calls and emails. I even purchased a few different SIM cards from town. You can really only purchase 5 gigs at a time for about 25 USD. Every once in a while I could grab 2 bars of 3G from the rooftop terrace. The property management company was not helpful at all. They said they would send someone to look at it but never did. I gave up asking about it on day 5. The GPS coordinates were also incorrect. They are listed as (') first and (') second. they should be listed as (') first and (") second. Probably a typo, but you will not be able to find this place in the dark without correclty formating the GPS coordinates.

We stayed in may 2023 and came back to the house in nov 2023. We absolutely love this house. Power went out and couldn’t get out of the gate but the property management was quick to come manually open it for us. Views are awesome and the wildlife that visits is amazing.

Perfection and favorite stay out of many!
YOU NEED 4X4 TO GET HERE. But if you’re visiting the area….book it. You won’t be disappointed. Wrapping up a 6 week family venture across Costa Rica, and this has been our favorite stay after 9 different moves. The incredible view, the luxurious house, the private location, the perfect layout…..we will recommend this to anyone we know who is visiting Uvita. The drive is intense when it’s your first go at it. I worried we might not physically make it to the rental house. After that initial trek, it gets easier as it becomes more familiar. You’ll make it…(even in a rental car, 4x4 of course)..and it’s completely worth it. We enjoyed everything the area had to offer. (We cooked a lot because of the length of our total trip. Kitchen is well supplied!) The national park is amazing, and we LOVED our whale watching tour. We spent a day on the endless beach, walked the whale tail, visited the Saturday makers market, enjoyed the Uvita waterfall, and even a long afternoon in the front yard….the area is a great location. The property feels extremely private and secure. The house has beautiful finishes. Some of the individual outdoor furniture has seen better days, but my favorite spot was perched overlooking the ocean. Every detail of the property is thought through and lovely to enjoy. We were thankful for large washer/dryer to catch up on laundry after being on the road for so long. The finishes of the house were just beautiful. Just book it! You'll be glad you did.

Great house with a fantastic View
The house was fantastic, as was the pool and the view was amazing. We saw tons of Toucans and other birds, lizards, frogs, etc... We heard there can be howler monkey's in the area but we didn't see (or hear) any while we were there. The owner had a book of area recommendations which was nice. The one restaurant that we did try from the book (Los Laurales) was fantastic and probably our favorite meal of our entire week in Costa Rica. Only complaint was that the water temp of the upstairs shower fluctuated as you were showering, but it's also understandable considering how remote the home is relative to basic utilities. Accessing the property is not for the faint of heart, it requires a 4x4 vehicle and preferably one that is meant for off-road driving. We had a hyundai tuscon with all-wheel drive, that barely had the horse power and ground clearance required to make it up the very steep, very bumpy, unpaved road. We got temporarily stuck and high centered several times but were able to push on thru. Highly recommend making your first trip up the hill during daylight hours, if possible. That being said, we arrived after dark and did make it, even in our undersized, underpowered vehicle.

Beautiful Place Beautiful Setting
This is a very nicely designed house in a terrific site with great views of the Whale’s Tale. The space distribution is really well thought out. Basically well equipped. The one weakness is in the area of management’s responsiveness, but beyond that we highly recommend it. Do get a 4X4 vehicle. Cheers
