This has the potential to be a great place to stay in Auckland but there were a series of unfortunate events that made my stay poor.
The lock box for the key was left open and made it confusing to retrieve them. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and there was no toilet paper. I had to go purchase my own. Non of these issues were remedied even though I notified the management on the first day.
This was the worst experience.
We had booked this in advance, and 4 days before we were due to check in, I read a bad review about the cleanliness etc. So I emaile "My Hotel" who were managing the property (please note that this is not an actual hotel in any way shape or form), advising them that i had read the review and wanted to ensure that the apartment would be clean upon our arrival - especially as my husband has high expectations in this regard, and would leave if not up to standard.
My husband arrived before I did, to the room not only not being ready, but in a disgusting state. He rang "My Hotel" and they informed him that they had a rogue tenant in this property, who had also planted wetas and other bugs. My husband advised we would not be staying and it was agree that the booking be cancelled and we get a full refund. My husband found us alternative accomodation, at significantly (double) the money, as Auckland was full and everything was at a maximum premium for the next 4 nights. The next day my husband got a call from "My Hotel" advising we would only be refunded one nights accomodation because we decided to leave, and the bug situtation whilst true was "not that bad - it was only one or two bugs" (Note: has anyone seen wetas? and would you want to find them in your bed?).
After several days of phones calls it was agreed we would get a full refund, which we recieved, but still out of pocket for this terrible experience.
DO NOT EVER STAY AT THIS PROPERTY
Filthy room . Hadn’t been been cleaned from previous occupants !!
Hairs in the bed,sticky floors,plaster and nails on the bedroom floor,
Not allowed on the balcony as hadn’t been cleared by the council for building regulations.
Contacted help which was a complete joke aaargh !!!!! First person said they would get back in 15mins - 30 mins later I rang them back when they said that they would sort it out . 2 hours later after we’d gone out they phoned to say could we go back to he appartments as they didn’t have a spare key !!!!!! The fiasco continued until I switched my phone off as they hadn’t totally ruined our 24hour stay in Auckland.
All in all the appartment was never cleaned so we couldn’t sleep in the beds even as they had somebody else’s body hair under the covers .
Absolutely disgusting ........................
