Timber River Cabin with hot tub and trail to river

The space

This rustic, hand-milled cabin is perfect for your Mt. Rainier getaway. Situated 5 miles from the Nisqually Entrance (open year-round), you're never far from adventure. Perfect for 4 adults, featuring 1 bedroom and 1 bedroom w/ loft, both with queen beds. A fully-equipped kitchen with a vintage gas range will keep you fueled for all your activities. Soak in the new hot tub that's tucked away in a private grotto. Up a private drive with a private trail to the Nisqually River.

Ready for a fall or winter getaway? Cozy up by the fireplace with a book, or take a dip in the hot tub after a day of hiking or just wrap up in a blanket and watch the mist move over the mountains!

This cabin was built with hand-milled trees from this very lot! You’ll have the place to yourself with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a dining room with plenty of space for 4.

The living room contains 2 armchairs and a couch that will fit 3. There is a tv with a connected Chromecast. This open space has a propane stove to keep you cozy and warm. It also has a desk if you need to work while you’re away.

There are two bedrooms, both of which have doors that close. The main bedroom features a queen-sized bed and sleeps 2.

The second bedroom features a loft with a queen bed and sleeps two. The loft bedroom requires that you climb a ladder to get into bed and is not suitable for young children or individuals who may have trouble getting up and down the ladder.

Between both bedrooms is a full bathroom with a shower (no tub).

The cabin is situated on just over a half acre with a trail to the Nisqually River. Just steps from the kitchen you'll find a hot tub tucked away in a fern and rock grotto for ultimate privacy.

House-trained dogs are welcome, but cannot be left unattended. Thanks for being a responsible owner!

*We decorate for Christmas in December with an artificial tree, some lights, a few stocking, and some garland.*

Guest access
You will have the place to yourself, it’s very secluded with very few neighbors. There are neighbors on the same street. You’ll also have access to the covered parking. Guests will not have access to the basement, sheds, or garages.

Other things to note
SAFETY: This is a wonderful cabin for your next getaway, but we do encourage you to keep in mind that the loft bedroom has a ladder to get into the bed. This ladder could be a hazard to anyone, but especially young children or individuals with mobility restrictions. River Access: The trail to the river is a short walk through the woods, but it is steep and includes uneven natural terrain. Guests should wear appropriate footwear and use caution when accessing the river. Due to the terrain, the trail is not ADA accessible and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

WINTER BOOKINGS (NOV-APR): please come prepared for snow. We do plow our private drive, but this can’t always be done immediately after it snows. We recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles and traveling with chains (these are required in MRNP), a shovel, and other necessary supplies for snowy conditions. Mt. Rainier National Park is open year round, at the Nisqually entrance (5 miles from the cabin!).

SUMMER BOOKINGS (MAY-SEPT): Our property does not have air conditioning. We do provide box fans for bedroom windows to help cool the cabin at night for more comfortable sleeping.

POWER OUTAGES: Ashford is a rural area. Power outages are common during the winter due to above-ground power lines and lots of trees. We have basic supplies to keep our guests safe and warm, because of this we do not offer refunds for power outages during guest stays. Internet outages do happen from time to time, but are usually quickly resolved.

HOT TUB: Our team comes M/W/F to treat the hot tub.

This property has exterior security cameras.

Dogs are welcome, but must be disclosed at the time of booking. We do not have a fenced yard. Please clean up after your pet outside and keep them on a leash. We have a lot of wildlife in the area!

If you’re looking for a quiet home close to Mt Rainier this is your place. The house has everything you need and then some. The hot tub is tucked in a fern garden with views of the mountains plus a private path behind that takes you to the river. The hosts were easy to deal with and quick to respond.

Great place that had a nice large deck and is very private. Accomodations were comfortable and perfect for a small family. Very close to the Mt. Rainier Paradise entrance. The gas stove took a little getting used to, but worked like a charm! Highly recommended!
