Fjellsangin sits on historic Mount Tahoma Canyon Road East — affectionately known as "The Old Road," the original wagon trail leading into Mount Rainier National Park. Today, this quiet, forested stretch offers a rare sense of arrival: unhurried, tree-lined, and just minutes from the Nisqually entrance and the iconic Paradise area.

Nestled in the small mountain town of Ashford, Washington, the cabin is close to a handful of locally loved spots worth seeking out. A short walk away, Paradise Village is a Ukrainian-owned restaurant and bakery known for handmade pierogi, borscht, and honey cake. Other nearby favorites include Wildberry Restaurant for Himalayan mountain cuisine, Copper Creek Inn for comfort food and famous berry pie, and BaseCamp Grill for casual bites and live music on weekends.

Nature lovers will find endless inspiration — from the Longmire Historic District to Myrtle Falls and the wildflower meadows of Paradise. In winter, the area transforms into a quiet wonderland of snowshoeing, sledding, and snow-draped forest views.

Fjellsangin is designed for couples and adult groups seeking a restorative, design-forward escape. The cabin has fast Wi-Fi, though once you arrive, you may find you don't need it.

Guests have full, private access to the entire cabin and all outdoor spaces — including the cedar sauna, hot tub, firepit, furnished deck, and BBQ grill. Inside, you'll find a gourmet kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, coffee and tea bar, and thoughtfully designed living and sleeping areas.

Private on-site parking is included, along with access to a Level 2 EV charger.

Optional add-ons — dinner kits, sauna ritual upgrades, and wellness amenities — are available for purchase with at least 7 days' notice prior to arrival and will be ready and waiting when you check in.

The open-concept living room features a gas fireplace, cozy seating, and a curated selection of books and games. A Roku TV, PlayStation, and Marshall Bluetooth speaker are available for evenings in. With forest views on all sides, it's the natural gathering place after a long day on the mountain.

Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range, dishwasher, and high-quality cookware. A large island with bar seating anchors the dining area — equally suited to slow breakfasts and candlelit dinners. The kitchen is stocked with a curated selection of spices and pantry staples to make cooking feel easy and inspired.

Coffee & Tea Bar
Just off the kitchen, a built-in coffee and tea bar offers three ways to brew — drip, Keurig, and French press — alongside a rotating selection of local blends, herbal teas, and guest favorites. A quiet ritual for slow mornings and post-hike afternoons.

Primary Bedroom
Located on the main floor, the primary bedroom features a king-sized bed, soft linens, ambient lighting, and forest-facing windows. A Roku TV and white noise machine ensure restful, uninterrupted sleep.

Fjellsangin is located in Ashford, Washington, just minutes from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. This is a remote mountain community — beautiful for it — and a personal vehicle is essential, as there is no public transportation in the area.

The cabin is easily accessible year-round via State Route 706 (Paradise Road), with private on-site parking and a Level 2 EV charger available for guests.

Getting Here
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is the nearest major airport, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes by car. Portland International Airport (PDX) is another popular option, about 2 hours 15 minutes away.
