We loved staying at Duffy's! We were here for ten days. It was a great homebase for travel around Ireland. We visited Dublin 3 days, which was a quick drive although we found the 103 bus also easy to navigate if you don't want to drive. We also did day trips to the West Coast and to Belfast. Our hosts were fantastic--Eve welcomed us on our first day and gave us many tips. They responded to our bevy of questions and came by to say goodbye as well. It was fun to be surrounded by animals in a farm setting, but also very close to Ashbourne if we needed anything. Kitty came to visit us several times. As others have noted they provided scones, milk, orange juice and tea on arrival with the good Irish butter. I did walk through Ballybin forest one afternoon when we were doing laundry, which was also easy to manage. I highly recommend this spot!

The hosts were very gracious and or little one enjoyed walking around the woods and getting to see a few animals. Very nice that they had a travel crib and a highchair for us to use. Ashebourne had a surprising amount of restaurants for takeout and easy access to Dublin/the airport with a rental car.

Relaxing stay in the countryside

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage — it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The location was perfect: surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet with quiet, traffic-free roads that made getting to our daily destinations easy and stress-free. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Our favorite UK/Ireland VRBO

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was super spacious, we were greeted by a very friendly cat, buns/croissants/jams/butter/milk/OJ when we arrived, and the property was very clean. It was our favorite VRBO out of the 5 that we stayed at during our UK/Ireland vacation. Very nice caretaker, friendly dogs, great walking trail around the farm, sheep, and an easy 20-30 minute drive to Dublin. Highly recommend this one! (Just remember that the entrance is past the house, not via the main gate!)

Excellent Stay

Highly recommend! This self-service stay was impeccable. The owners were too kind and the home had everything we needed; two bedrooms, kitchen and living room/dining room combo. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the convenience of having grocery stores and restaurants within 5 minutes, while only being 25 minutes outside of Dublin. My 9-yr old said it best: we're surrounded by life here!!

Quaint two day getaway

Ciaran and Eve were wonderful hosts! The apartment was very tidy and easy to find. Our transport was delayed and they incredibly accommodating of a midnight arrival. We were delighted to find tea and snacks waiting for us in the kitchen. The farm was easy to find and we loved exploring the trails and meeting all the animals living there. We look forward to visiting again!

Great stay

Nice 2 bedroom stay with a view.. sheep and lambs out the back door. Great distance from Dublin, not too far but enough for a quiet night of sleep during St Patricks weekend. Kitchen had all we needed and the welcome goods were nice. Host was understanding with time change/dates misstep on my part.

Close to Newgrange and airport

Quiet, comfortable and nice location for our needs. We took 25 minutes to get to Newgrange and about the same time to get to the Dublin airport for our flight home. We were treated with a lovely basket of breakfast foods, as well. The host has prepared an excellent and very comprehensive book of all you could need while staying in this area.

5-Star Stay!

This charming cottage (the Cowshed) is in a very quiet and convenient location in Meath. The accommodations were as shown, and we had a very comfortable two-day stay. There's a beautiful forest in the back that you can wander through, and the communication with the Hosts was fantastic. I would definitely stay at the Duffy's Ballabin again.

Near But Not In Dublin

We really enjoyed staying in The Cow Shed for our time in the Dublin area. Welcome basket of breakfast items was appreciated. It’s a reasonable drive in to the city or you can take the 103 bus. We had a mi or issue with the hot water heater that was promptly and professionally resolved to our satisfaction. Friendly cat on property.

Farm stay

It was a typical farm house that got us away from the city. You need to Uber, have a car or get a ride to town. Walking is dangerous and no bus stop close. The setting is beautiful and hosts were accommodating.

Irish Country Perfection

Ciaran and Eva made our stay so comfortable and welcoming. It was a great start to our Irish holiday and I would stay with them again. Lovely Farm Stay

A wonderful place for families! Sheep right outside the door and lots of places to take the kids on walks. Eva was a lovely help and provided high chair. Thank you for the bread, butter, tea, coffee, juice, and milk upon arrival!
