"The outstanding feature here was the friendliness of the desk staff. Both upon arrival and departure they couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. The room was fine. Big enough and comfortable. We loved the library bar, and a complimentary drink was a nice addition. We had an inclusive rate and the breakfast buffet was fairly good, although I wouldn’t have paid the steep extra cost for it. There are lots of cafes close by. The location is great, with bars, cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. A short walk to the lake and beaches. We always walked back and forth to downtown which is about 30-40 minutes (we’re big walkers, and always walk everywhere). It’s a nice walk too. The metro is about a five minute walk. Overall The whole place has an authentic atmosphere and doesn’t feel “chainy”."
