Wedding stop over

We needed a stop over for my daughter wedding so booked this a while ago and with a drive of 50 mins from our holiday hotel we thought this being 14 mins away from the winery venue would be much better. We got to the village ok but couldn't find the Stonehouse but did email before to see where we get the keys from and it was the café. we got there and there didn't speak very good English but I take this as I should have learnt Greek so my bad really. There was taken to the room and we thought it was very nice but after wash and we were on our way to the venue and not back till 1am. So no problem and really loved this Stonehouse but on look at the booking and after looking on line it seems we were give a villa not the 1 double bed and 2 single with a bath the villa only had a shower? a disappointment as I can remember I did pay more at the time. Also when taking to I think it was the cook she said the café was open 24/7 but when we left at 7.30am it was closed and had to leave the key in the room? didn't like to do this but no other away we could have done this. That said I would recommend this place but make sure you get what you pay for and would go back as we think we still got value for the money paid.

es handelt sich nicht um ein Hotel, sondern um eine Ferienwohnung bei einer Taverne, die das regelt. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer in den Bergen gebucht und eine Ferienwohnung in traditionellen Stil mit Wohnzimmer, Kamin, Küche, Toilette, Schlafzimmer mit Bad und Dachterrasse, mit Blick auf Berge und Meer bekommen. Was stört da eine gebastelte Schlafzimmer-Türe der das Band gebrochen ist ??

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft

Supernette Vermieter! Der Familie gehört auch eine Taverne wo man für 4 Euro ein sehr reichhaltiges Frühstück bekommt! Unterkunft rustikal und gemütlich! Ruhiges Bergdörfchen mit netten, hilfsbereiten Griechen! Haben sogar ein kleines Olivenölmuseum:-) Tolle Unterkunft, wenn man es mal nicht so touristisch haben will!

Super séjour dans cette petite maison traditionnelle en pierre située à l'écart de l'agitation touristique dans un petit village tranquille. Terrasse privative à l'arrière, terrasse privative sur le toit. Maria, la propriétaire, est très sympa. Elle tient également un petit resto où l'on mange très bien pour pas cher du tout.

Bel villaggio, peccato appartmento non funzionale

L'appartamento era complessivamente bello e spazioso. Bocciato completamente la cucina e soprattutto il bagno. In pratica nel bagno c'era una vasca a metà col doccino e non si poteva fare la doccia in piedi perché altrimenti si allagava tutto. Inoltre hanno messo un lavandino micro che era impossibile lavarsi. Infatti abbiamo dovuto usare il lavandino della cucina per lavare denti, mani viso ecc. ecc. Peccato perché nel bagno c'era spazio per mettere una cabina doccia e un lavandino serio. Molto positivo invece la cucina della signora della Taverna, che era la moglie del proprietario degli appartamenti. Lei molto gentile e disponibile, lui meglio lasciar perdere.

Les prestations ne correspondent pas au contrat passé - il s agissait d un gîte bas de gamme mezzanine ou on ne pouvait pas tenir debout pas de confort 2 lits durs sauf l AC. Personne ne connaissait "l hôtel" le site hôtel. Com n a pas pu débrouiller cette situation . Au total du vol !

Modern twist in old style in small Cretan village

Fabulous accomadation as it is all new and authentic with a modern twist as regards facilities. consisted of living room with bedroom upstairs(on Suite). Balcony outside. From living room through outside space to seperate kitchen. Space was really too large for a couple. We stayed 3 days but the accomodation would be suitable if you settled in for a week. Village is very small with one very good tavern. Probably good for walking tours. You would definately need your own car.

Charming traditional house with panoramic view

We were expecting an apartment but this was a house with two bathrooms, living room, kitchen and bedroom plus two balconies and a stupendous view extending180 degrees across to the mountains and all the way to the coast. It was very quiet and private. Vafes is small and friendly but only a 5 minute drive down the hill to Vrisses which has all the amenities needed such as shops and restaurants. You can access the National Highway from Vrisses and it's just a short drive to the coast at Georgioupouli or to many other small towns and villages. The area is excellent for walking.

Wild nature on the beautiful island of Crete

The most beautiful place where you can experience the Cretan tradition, cuisine, music, meet and get to know the Cretans.The house was very spacious and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, courtyard with barbecue all in the traditional style, very nice and tastefully framed.The owners are very kind hospitable always available for everything you need with a smile on his face.In their taverns can get breakfast, lunch, real Cretan specialties, you can even agree on what and when you want to eat.I read some bad reviews for this accommodation such is not clean , there is no wifi in the room and things like that .IF you want luxury and wifi in the room, maid every day you have to pay a lot more than what it costs this accommodation so that it is not okay to write such comments,you get what you pay ,but sometimes it is not true because we have paid a much higher price in Rethymnon and get less than here even though it was wifi in the room, etc.All who love to experience the real Crete recommend to visit this place.

Au coeur de la Créte authentique !

Ce n'était pas une chambre mais un appartement avec coin cuisine ! Prenez-rendez-vous avec les gérants avant car il n'y a pas de réception. Sinon allez dans le bar-restaurant dans la grande rue, ce sont les gérants qui le tiennent. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Les petits-déjeuners ne sont pas compris dans le prix de la chambre, mais le lendemain nous avons déjeuné dans leur restaurant pour 7€ à deux un super petit déjeuner : jus d'orange frais, chocolat, tartine confiture, yaourt au miel ... avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée. Très très dépaysant !!!

Perfect tradional village

The apartment was perfect, everything we needed with loads of character. The village was amazing, hardly anyone spoke english, which was no problem as the whole community would help us out! The food from the apartment host's taverna was simple traditional greek food, at a price you wouldn't believe. Across the road was a minimarket where all the locals went to drink raki of an evening. They even bought us some, and the owner gave us plenty of nice little plates of nibbles - we only went in for a packet of tissues!! All in all, a perfect apartment in a perfect village.

Le vrai parfum de Grèce

Le charme des chambres typiques est au rendez-vous, la gentillesse des propriétaires aussi. Si vous souhaitez passer des vacances dans un vrai village crétois, l'ambiance des soirées chaudes avec les locaux dehors en train de prendre un verre dans le village, si vous souhaitez connaître les soirées à l'ambiance typiques de chez eux, cet endroit est pour vous. Il fait très calme la nuit (ce qui n'est pas le cas dans les endroits touristiques en Crète) et l'on y mange pour vraiment pas cher (trois restaurants dans le village) ! Attention, il faut absolument une voiture, plage à 10 km !!!
