Hotel is easy to find and has loads of parking spaces. Hotel staff are friendly and polite but customer service doesn't seem to be much of a priority. My Standard Double was similar to what you'd get in a reasonably priced chain hotel - clean and comfortable. They'd stopped serving food by 8pm with no out-of-hours food options. They directed us to a fast food van nearby which was very good and we ate on the terrace outside. Bar was open 'til 10.30pm. Breakfast was buffet style and very good. There's no air con but my room had a good desk fan which made it bearable in the 30° heat. A good place to stay but it would benefit from a stronger customer service ethos.

room very drab, dingy, ironing board but no iron, cigarette ends and empty beer glasses left outside, rubbish strewn along rear of building was the view from room window, mouldy bread at breakfast, manager not helpful , if i could have added a photo of the rubbish left outside the length of the path of all the rooms i would have, but will on trust pilot, waitress staff were very polite, the only good point, but wouldn't stay again if i was paid to

Lovely little spot to stop over for the night - nice evening meal (ham, egg and chips), followed by a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Comfy bed. Nice and tidy room - only issue was I’m 6ft and couldn’t really stand up in the bath fully for a shower ……….. maybe a check first of the persons height and if the room is right for them?

Ok for the money

The hotel is in a nice area and looked like it had a nice outdoor seating area. The staff accommodated us with an accessible room which was very helpful. The bedding and sheets, main bathroom were clean but other surfaces/chair/walls were grubby and could've done with a wipe down. We got disturbed by pipe noises through the night so didn't have the most restful sleep. For £45 for a twin room it did the job for one night, and you couldn't be mad.

We stayed here for one night on the way home from Cornwall as wanted to visit Jane Austen museum. Parking was easy, check in was quick and our evening meal and breakfast were lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable, although a bit dusty. Excellent shower with plenty of hot water. Would stay again.

My partner and I recently visted the Angel hotel and we had an amazing time. Dinner and breakfast was sooo good! Staff are accommodating and overall lovely. Rooms are spacious and great value for money! Will recommend to anyone that is looking to stay in the area.
