Our family came to Alpine for a wedding and stayed in this cabin for a week. The positives are the price and location, it is affordable (esp. compared to Jackson area) and the place is secluded yet only a few blocks from the highway. The area is beautiful with the nearby mountains and all the local activities available for families. However, the house is in need of significant repairs and upgrades. The stairs and porch are rickety, paint peeling off and some boards are loose/warped. There is only one portable AC unit on the first floor, so when it got to 90 outside, it was very warm in the house and took a while to cool down at night even with fans blowing - leaving doors and windows open worked somewhat, but some window had no screens and others had torn screens which let in bugs. One bedroom had a beach towel rigged up as a curtain, another has no windows, so no air circulation. The bathrooms were functional but the water pressure is variable and plumbing noise is quite noticeable. There is a cleaning fee but though the carpets were cleaned right before we arrived, the furniture had not been put back in place. Despite this we found bugs throughout the house and old food wrappers behind the sofa. The kitchen is functional but almost all the pots/pans and appliances appear to be from 20 years ago. We made the best of it.The outdoor lanai was nice but we had to clean it up ourselves to make it usable. Overall, I would say this place could be better with some attention
