I did not receive the door code, and when I arrived, I messaged the host directly with no response. I waited over an hour and messaged them again through VRBO. I then spent the next morning messaging VRBO from home. After a few attempts, VRBO finally got a hold of the host, who then sent me the code a day later. I had already driven back home, 3 hours away by this time, and was not going to pack my family back up. VRBO requested that I solve this matter directly with the host. The host will not reimburse me as they said that they did send the code, which I did not receive. I understand that it could have gotten lost but there is no excuse for them not to respond to me and resend it. This ruined my Christmas plans with my children, and I am beyond disappointed. VRBO has yet to help solve the problem.
