The Ledges Resort and Marina, Loon Cottage

The Loon Cottage is a beautiful loft style one bedroom cottage with a stone fireplace overlooking the river. It has a queen size bed upstairs. Downstairs there is a queen size pull out sofa with a memory foam mattress. It has a full kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, farmhouse apron sink, range, dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. There is a 39" HDTV with Directv satellite television.
On the outdoor deck there is a grill and dining table with chairs to enjoy summer grilling. There is a firepit with Adirondack chairs for enjoying smores with the family.
Luxury shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap are provided by Beekman 1802. The beds are made with fresh linens. Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths are also provided.
Everything is prepped and ready to make your vacation relaxing and comfortable. Just bring yourself!
- Welcome to The Ledges Resort & Marina! We are located directly on the St. Lawrence River across from Boldt Castle. We have views of the castle, Sunken Rock Lighthouse, and the main shipping channel. There are decks, docks, hammocks, and gazebos all across our six-acre property. You will find many beautiful spots to relax, read a book, take a walk, or go fishing. We have a large in-ground pool and deck area. Every cottage has its own fire-pit where you can warm up under the stars. We even provide the firewood! There are plenty of open lawn areas to play catch, lawn games, or just take a walk.
The Ledges offers a peaceful getaway with six acres of landscaped grounds along the water. While the grounds provide privacy and lots of space, we are not in a remote location. It’s a quick and easy walk downtown Alexandria Bay. We are close to all of the attractions. At the Ledges you have the best of both worlds, relaxation and convenience!

A slice of heaven

If you are looking to unwind and just relax this is the place. Peaceful yet not boring. You can walk to A Bay easily. Best part is sitting outside with a glass of whatever and watch the world go by, esp. the ships which are awesome and majestic. This was our 3rd stay here and it never disappoints. I’m a bit of a cleanliness nut and I have nothing but good things to say about this place.Lorrie and Greg

We stayed in the Loon Cottage and absolutely loved it! This is a great location, only a short walk or quick ride to all the restaurants, The property has many extras including canoes, grills, pool and a beautiful area for outdoor camp fires and lounging. The owners were quick to respond to any messages and always available for assistance, We would recommend The Ledges to any families looking for a perfect spot to vacation In Alexandria Bay!

Stunning property & marina on the St Lawrence Seaway. Clean & efficient units on large & spacious grounds. Spectacular views & scenery abound. The owners were easily accessible & friendly. Our unit was as advertised, with Dish Network TV, gas fireplace, all new exterior & interior. Spacious bathroom, fabulous shower, plentiful towels & washcloths. Kitchen was well appointed, outside grill & firepit with plenty of firewood & kindling. Beautifully decorated grounds added to the total experience. Watching ships go by, shopping in town or just exploring the area & walking in town. Alexandria Bay, The Ledges, Boldt Castle made for one Excellent Vacation

Great place to explore Alexandria Bay

The property is kept squeaky clean.All the cabins are spotless and all necessary items are there for your convenience. Will return with my entire family again every year. The location is fantastic and the castle can be seen clearly. Great hosts and friendly staff!

We traveled up from Maryland to celebrate our daughters wedding at Boldt Castle (which you can see from the property) and were awe struck by the location and coziness of this cottage. Nick and Amy were very responsive to any questions that I had. We're looking forward to visiting again to explore the town more in depth.

Idyllic getaway

Wonderful experience. Well equipped & cozy cottage with everything you might need. Lots of homey touches like houseplants, tea & coffee supplies, bonfire setup. We really enjoyed the beautiful grounds, ship-watching, sunset viewing, lounging in the hammocks, kayaking, and bonfires at night. Nick & Amy are wonderful hosts--very responsive and friendly. Great stay at Loon Cottage!

Loon Cottage is beautiful! Modern, clean with excellent views. There are plenty of windows that allow breezes to flow and a gas fireplace if the temperature dips. It was nice having a kitchen, fully equipped with everything. The bathroom is large with an amazing shower. The Ledges Resort property is scenic and meticulously maintained. I really enjoyed my four night stay.

Unexpected pleasure

Property was very attractive and extremely well maintained. Staff was very responsive to minor problems detected. Dave and Eric are very personable and hard working. They should come to Buffalo and teach hospitality training out here.

Perfect river getaway!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Loon Cottage. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Everyone working there was very friendly. The view was awesome (great for watching ships and sunsets). We used the outdoor fire pit every night, and appreciated that they always replenished our wood supply. The property is beautiful- there’s a ton of space to walk, and the landscaping is beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Escape from …….

Wife and I needed a break. Work, Covid, crowds. Read about Alexandria Bay an saw this on VRBO. Glad we did. Spent a pleasant get away in the Loon cottage. Totally relaxing. Cooked a few meals and ate on deck watching the boats go by and sun set. Built a nice roaring fire by the private fire pit. Place is worth staying at. Clean, friendly folks and quiet. Thank you Nick and Amy. Had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Looking forward to come up and stay there again.

The grounds and home were very well maintained. The adorable cottage was immaculate and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. We loved time on the private patio and fire pit just watching the boats go by. We hope to be back again soon!

A pretty place for a get away

We spend Labor Day weekend at The Ledges. It’s located right outside downtown Alex Bay. The property is really beautiful and the landscaping immaculate. The cottage is exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The only downside is if your looking for privacy. The cottages are close in proximity. It was a nice stay and I would recommend.
