Lovely hotel with stunning views and a nice pool!
We chose this hotel due to it's profile and seeing nice rooms, a nice pool and the fact that it was adult only (insinuating a slightly quieter atmosphere!!). We were expecting a room but were pleasantly surprised to actually find an 'apartment' which was really roomy and had two main rooms (a bedroom and a dining room / spare bedroom) and a separate bathroom / shower room / wet room. It was obvious that it had been recently refurbished and was immaculately decorated and finished with stone tile floors which were cool. The bed was (unusually) large and bigger than your average hotel double which added to the comfort, as did the firm but supportive mattress. There was air conditioning in both of the rooms which was included in the price (last time on a Greek island we had to pay extra per night for use of the air-con remote control - disappointing!). There was a fridge which was useful for storing cold drinks and we had a double ground floor veranda with stunning views. It was a very short walk to the pool and eating area. The pool was brilliant and a decent size for the amount of residents and the views from this area were better than from the room (which is saying something). The only disappointment from our stay was the food (we were half board) and the intermittent / patchy wi-fi. We had a leak after a severe storm but this was rectified immediately and diligently. We were also able to check out late as we had a late flight and this was very much appreciated indeed.
Great little hotel.
We had a lovely QUIET relaxing stay at the Meliti. The staff were friendly, well mannered, helpful and attentive. The hotel is having a face lift and you can easily see where the money has been spent ( no works ongoing). There are still some little bits to be renovated, however this had little or no impact on our stay. The all inclusive food was tremendous and there was local beer, white/red wine, Ouzo and Raki, with a small supply other drinks if you wanted to pay. The hotel is situated on a small steep slope which allowed for stunning sea views from just about the entire hotel. (although there is a lift in the hotel I would not recommended for someone who has limited mobility). There was a local mini market and several Tavernas within a 15 min walk, and a lovely beach 5 min walk away (turn right out of the hotel). We also very much liked the varied nationality of the guests.
In summary this is a good clean small facility with friendly staff, but only book if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break, not for the party goers. We would go back!!!
Negative aspects (for us):
1.Bad organization, I had booked the suite and I initially got a standard room, I had to complain to change the room. The room was not ready.
2.The room is not cleaned properly, some tools in the toilette are rusty, there are ants in the room.
3.Too much noise at 3AM (drunk people), the suite is too close to the street.
Positive aspects:
1.Friendliness of the waitress at breakfast and the personnel in general.
2.Nice view on the sea from the terrasse in the morning.
3.A small (quite crowded) swimming pool is available for the guests.
The hotel is 45 minutes walk from the center of Agios Nikolaos, there are many restaurants on the street so you don't need to walk if you want to have dinner out, there is also a bus stop close to the hotel.
The renovation of the hotel is still in progress, this is clearly visibile.

- renhold daglig, slik hotellinformasjonene lover.
