Hermosa casa, remodelada en el corazón de Afton

Ubicado en el Bosque Nacional George Washington, Gracewood es un retiro de la actividad mental y emocional de la vida cotidiana. La casa fue remodelada recientemente como un lugar cómodo para parejas o familias pequeñas que desean un descanso. Realizamos retiros de meditación aquí dos veces al año, por lo que funcionaría bien para un escritor o artista o un contemplativo. Sin embargo, es relajante y curativo para cualquiera.

Arriba hay una cocina moderna completa con electrodomésticos nuevos. Hicimos la cabaña tan agradable que uno de nosotros podría vivir allí cómodamente si decidimos hacerlo. También hay un juego de comedor y un cómodo sofá de futón de tamaño completo. (Muchos futones no son tan cómodos. Somos dueños de una empresa de colchones orgánicos, por lo que el colchón y el marco son los mejores).

En la planta baja hay un colchón tamaño queen y otro excelente futón (o cama). También tenemos algunas sillas cómodas. Utilizamos ropa de cama orgánica Savvy Rest.

En 12 minutos hay varias cervecerías, bodegas y un sidra.

La propiedad es de 39 acres, con 1/2 milla a lo largo de Meriwether Creek. El volumen de agua varía con la temporada, pero la sensación de energía siempre es poderosa, calma y limpia. Hay aproximadamente dos millas de senderos privados adecuados para practicar senderismo o correr. Los senderos están bien marcados, y hay un mapa disponible.

A lo largo de ocho años, hemos visto algunos osos, mapaches, marmotas, murciélagos, muchas tortugas de caja, algunas serpientes, una gran variedad de aves, junto con muchos ciervos y otros animales salvajes. Tomamos fotos de lo que parecían ser huellas de lince en invierno, pero no hemos visto a los nocturnos.

Tenga en cuenta que no hay televisión. Internet es confiablemente lento, por lo que no puede transmitir películas; y el servicio celular dentro de la cabaña es intermitente, aunque en el exterior suele ser bastante confiable. Así que es relativamente fácil de desenchufar.

También tenga en cuenta que la cama de matrimonio principal está en la planta baja, y el baño está en la planta superior si se levanta en la noche. También tenemos un colchón de tamaño completo arriba si es necesario.

Hay maravillosos eventos musicales de primavera a otoño. Esquiar en Wintergreen en el invierno.

Música en vivo en nuestro encantador mercado de agricultores en Nellysford los sábados de mayo a noviembre.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful little Cottage. The trails were nice to walk around and the location was just far enough removed to feel like an escape but close enough to many great attractions. Very clean and comfortable with attentive hosts!

Perfect Cottage Perfect Location

Cottage was exactly as described. Very clean. The grounds gave a great opportunity to hike in the morning and relax in the evening. Right in the middle of many great wineries and breweries. We will definitely be back.

Great hiking

We chose this property so we could wintergreen resort and the local breweries, but the best part was the beautiful hiking trails behind the property. One of the best hikes I’ve ever been on.

This was an amazing place to stay

My daughter and I spent a weekend here and went skiing at Wintergreen. The hosts are amazing and the cottage it self, lovely. New, comfortable and beautiful. A quick 20 minute drive to Wintergreen. Can't say enough about the stay, it was just great.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We had a great time at the cottage. It is located conveniently to Skyline Drive. We were able to pick some chestnuts at a Virginia Chestnut farm. Paulie's Pig Out just down the road had tasty BBQ.

Fantastic Getaway

Michael and Heather are some of the best hosts we’ve encountered. They were kind, responsive and knocked hospitality out of the park. The unit was clean and comfortable. We had a good stay here.Very clean and all the amenities were supplied. Wasn't aware the property owners lived next door. That wasn't a problem for us but didn't catch that when booking. May want to know that if you're looking for total seclusion.

Peaceful and relaxing stay

We were so pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Super clean and close to so many cool things to do. Our original plan was to spend our days at Shenandoah but with so many cool things nearby, we had the chance to explore. The trails on the property are wonderful. We were able to recharge and restore. Thank you so much for sharing your space. Hope to return when the leaves are changing.

Weekend in Nelson County / Charlottesville

We stayed here for a weekend in the area. We went to a concert in Charlottesville on Saturday night and this was a great, quiet location for us to get to the concert and also enjoy a few places along 151. We enjoyed our stay, though it was a rainy weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the property or the many trails on the property as I had hoped. Great accommodations if you don't mind the bed on the lower level and the bath up. We didn't have an issue with that and the owners are very upfront about that detail. They were very responsive and the details about the property are spot on. Thanks!

Quiet, updated and clean

2 adults in the area for 4 night hiking and mountain biking adventures. Perfectly comfortable, clean and quiet. Owners super kind and helpful but not at all intrusive. Beautiful property conveniently located near the BRP and SNP and city conveniences but tucked away in a private mountain setting. Thanks so much for sharing your home.
