The Robey: Chicago

Robey Chicago, rooftop pool

The rooftop pool at The Robey in Chicago’s shopping, dining and nightlife mecca, Wicker Park, is the perfect escape from a sweltering Chicago summer. Perched on top of a historic 203-foot skyscraper in a neighborhood distinctly lacking in tall buildings, the Robey pool offers impressive skyline views. Feeling hungry? Grab a bite—or your favorite cocktail—at the nearby Cabana Club, then cool off with a cucumber, lime and mint popsicle. The pool is open to the public, but hotel guests have it to themselves from 9 to 11am.

The Colonnade Hotel: Boston

Colannade, boston

Take in the views of historic Boston from RTP, the rooftop pool at The Colonnade Hotel. When you’re not taking a refreshing dip, partake in rooftop yoga classes or just chill with a cold beverage and a bite to eat. We love its Back Bay location, close to Newbury Street and other attractions.

Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino: Las Vegas

The vibrant colors and AstroTurf surrounding the rooftop pool at The Citrus Grand Pool Deck make it a fun and lively place to hang out with friends—and escape daytime temps in the 100 degree zone. Located at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino, the 35,000-square-foot space features an inviting pool and also cabanas, day beds, a restaurant and bar, fire pit and outdoor games to keep you entertained. Plus, the relaxed vibe offers a  more restrained alternative to the party pools on the Strip. Admission for non-hotel guests is $5 weekdays/$10 weekends.

Texans like to go big. That probably explains why the Marriott Marquis Houston not only built a lazy river on their rooftop, but constructed it in the shape of Texas. The Parkview Terrace, which boasts picturesque views of Downtown, also includes a luxurious infinity pool, whirlpool, cabanas, fire pits and Jello-O shots at the High Dive bar.

The rooftop Highlight Room not only includes the pool, but also the indoor Lounge, perfect for parties, and the exquisite outdoor Grill for dining al fresco. With the push of a single button, the retractable pool transforms into a dance floor to party the night away long after the sun has gone down.

Take a break from the beach and head to The Oasis rooftop pool at the Sense Beach House Hotel. The quaint pool is the perfect place to sip a complimentary evening glass of wine, soak up the sun and take selfies with the Miami skyline as a backdrop. We love its location, steps from the Ocean in the heart of South Beach, and because it offers relative affordability compared to some of its neighbors.

Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel: New York

Rennaisance New York Chelsea Hotel, NYC, rooftop pool

A soon-to-be newcomer to the Flower District in Manhattan is the Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel. One of its most exciting features is the rooftop pool that will be one of the highest open-air rooftop pools in the city. It sits atop the 430-foot high former Antique Garage flea market. The garden-like setting is the perfect place to unwind during the day or party at night as part of the “Somewhere Nowhere” rooftop lounge.
