Will Never Use Vacana Again
We get a cabin almost every year in Broken Bow (around 10 times) and this is the first time that I have ever been disappointed. It is also the first time I have rented a Vacana cabin as well. The first thing you notice is a strong smell of wet dog or a dirty mop. I am not sure if it is just stuff soaking into the cloth furniture or what, but it didn’t go away downstairs the whole time we were there. I also noticed the remote for the cable box did not have any batteries. When I discussed with Vacana, the guy said that they don’t have cable and that we have to use our own services. Not what I would expect from a “5 Star” company. When I asked why they didn’t state that on the listing, he told me that “they don’t list other things they don’t have like an ice cream shop outside”. I could see they would be no help. We couldn’t use our Hulu to watch live tv because they require you to change your home address which we couldn’t do.Other issues include: the chairs outside were nasty, the bed was a cheap metal frame that squeaked so loud if you moved, the other person would wake up, the Blackstone cooking surface was so rusty and nasty we couldn't cook our steaks, the oven appeared that it wasn't converted to propane, so the flames were dangerously high, and the place seemed cheap with a large gap at the bottom of the door seal, decor with price tags hanging from it and so much more. All of this for place with fees that were equal to 60% of the stated rental price.
