Sitting in the shadow of O’Hare International, this suburb is about more than just the airport. It’s also packed with things to do.
While Rosemont isn’t the biggest place in Illinois, there’s a lot happening here. What once was a village on the outskirts of Chicago is now a prime convention and exhibition spot, thanks to its location. Rosemont backs up to O’Hare International Airport.
You don’t have to be flying out of the airport though to enjoy a quick trip to Rosemont. If you’re a sports fan you might want to head to the Allstate Arena, home of Chicago Sky and the Chicago Wolves. In town on business or here for a trade exhibition? Then you are more than likely to end up at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Opposite the convention center are clusters of business hotels to collapse in after a long day.
Love fashion? You should swing by the Fashions Outlets of Chicago, where you’ll find more than 130 discounted stores. The Rosemont Theater attracts national and international artists to its stage, while the Ballpark at Rosemont is a state-of-the-art softball ground. Bowling, gambling, music concerts – you’ll find it all in Rosemont. There’s even an indoor skydiving center and ice-skating rink. If the weather’s bad, it’s the perfect trip for a family day out full of indoor adventures.
But that’s not all. Rosemont packs a punch with its dining and drinking options too. Over at MB Financial Park, there are family-friendly restaurants, bars, and a popular comedy club. Most of the hotels (you’ll find lots of the major chains) in Rosemont have fine-dining restaurants, serving everything from steaks to seafood, so you’re all set for a dressed-up night out should you want it. Or there are the familiar eateries, if you’re swinging through on a late or early flight from O’Hare and need a quick and easy meal.
