"Great location with amazing views!!"
This hotel is an absolutely beautiful historic property in a wonderful location. Our room was smaller than we are used to, but the view and the fact that the windows open up to let in the ocean breeze more than makes up for it. We were a few blocks from the ocean and the seals (a must see!). There are numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance. In addition, the major sites in San Diego were a short drive away. It was nice to spend the day downtown and then return to our quiet retreat in La Jolla. Customer service was great! Thanks to all of the valet guys who assisted us everyday - not only with our car, but with beach chairs, etc to take to the beach for the day. And for asking our son every afternoon about his experience that day - he loved telling his stories to them.

"Great Hotel for longer trips"
I had a great experience with this hotel. The staff was always courteous and welcoming, The breakfast was good and different each day. Its location in the Gaslamp Quarter and only a few blocks from the convention center was perfect, offering a lot of nearby food and entertainment options. It was really nice having a kitchen and a little extra room compared to other hotels since I was there for a whole week. I also had a room on the 14th floor which offered some nice views of the city and the bay. The gym and pool were a little small but I imagine extra space is hard to come by in the middle of downtown San Diego.

"Lower-priced hotel for Convention stay"
I chose this hotel because it was one of the lower priced options. It is absolutely within walking distance to the Convention Center (just go straight down 1st street for about 1 mile). You will conveniently pass shopping center and grocery store on the left. Although I recommend it for a short conference stay, I would not recommend it if you have young kids on holiday-expect downtown scenery (lots of homelessness and areas obviously used for pubic urination if you walk anywhere). The hotel is adjacent to a gas station and Interstate-5, so the loud noise from freeway occasionally woke me. On my departure day, there was a mishap with the airport shuttle. I was bumped from the van reservation despite being assured the morning of by the front door staff that I would have a timely departure--they took the flight crew and left me to wait for the returning shuttle. I asked for a cab. The manager tried to make things right by offering to pay for the cab, but was dickering with the driver over whether the hotel's voucher was an acceptable form of payment and further delayed my departure. I declined any further travel assistance from the Sheraton, and paid my own cab fare. In summary, the stay is OK if you are in work mode (gone all day and just come back to crash and shower). Have a back up plan for the poorly managed (not so courteous) shuttle. The ride to airport is $12. The cabs take cash, paypal, and major credit cards.

"Overnight trip to the Beach"
Our stay at the Bayfront Hilton was nice and location is great if you're interested in going to a baseball game, or exploring Gas Lamp. I would have actually preferred something a little closer to Seaport Village. For the price of the room I was a little disappointed that there was not even a small refrigerator in the room to keep drinks cold. Otherwise Hotel is nice, staff is friendly, and check in/check out process was quick and efficient.

"Great Location, Historic Building"
Next to House of Blues, smack dab in the middle of downtown. Close to restaurants, pubs and brews. You are welcomed by the highly enthusiastic staff and the decor of the lobby is beautiful and intriguing. It is amazing how they have restored and redecorated the lobby to the glory that it is. The halls and rooms have also been redecorated, I have to remind myself that this is San Diego! The building reminds me of Manhattan style. As do the rooms, small yet efficient.

"NICE PLACE"
Its a great location. Old town walking distance. Great restaurants near by. Front desk was very nice an fast. From the out side very nice looking hotel grounds well kept. Parking was tight fit I had allot of trouble fitting my Toyota corolla. Rooms were nice and roomy but every thing looked old. I dint like the out dated bathroom. Style of the room went with the hotel but looked old. Needs some updating. Bed was stiff, pillows were OK but not great. TV was fuzzy needs better reception. Dresser drawers were flimsy. Was a nice place to stay. I was disappointed that parking was so expensive. Seems like a normal rate for San Diego. I stayed at the Double Tree and it was $18 a day. I did appreciate the complimentary beer and margarita. They were good pleasant surprise!
