Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach

We had floor to ceiling windows with the most gorgeous views of the ocean. Located on an easy to access corner. Bathroom was a nice size and bed was comfortable. Valet attendants helpful and nice and very quick when car requested. The pool was perfect size, water temp was great and great bar service at the pool. When we first arrived we asked manager for a restaurant recommendation. We had horrible service at the restaurant and when we returned to the hotel we asked another employee to pass it on to the manager. They actually passed it on, the manager called us the next day and said that he contacted the restaurant manager with our complaints and his displeasure and the restaurant manager sent us a bottle of wine as an apology. Very pleased with the follow through!!...Any bad comments I made were just little things, did not make a difference in our stay, we loved the hotel and the view and the location

"Good Location at Blast from the Past"
The location is excellent for time on the public beach. It's a relatively small operation that is over-shadowed by high rise condominiums and hotels. It shows it's age in wear and tear on facilities. Unique design of the entrance presents challenges with steps, ramps and a very small elevator.

"Nice Hotel close to the beach. "
We had a great time except that I did not apreciate having to pay $146.00 per night when I was also quoted $104.00 per night for the same room and same dates. Also I was not very happy with the guys that run the Cabana and Jet Ski rentals. On Friday I was charged $40.00 for the use of both the Beach Cabana and the Pool Cabana for the full day. When I came back to rent the same Cabanas on Saturday they charged me $40.00 for the Beach Cabana and $40.00 for the Pool Cabana when it states very clearly on their Price Chart that it costs $40.00 for the use of both Cabanas for the full day. I did not want to argue witht them because I was with my family but I found that to be price Gauging. I will be placing a complaint with the hotel directly later today about that.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
A friend and I stayed at Royal Beach Palace for 5 days on business. We were pleasantly surprised by the convenience, rooms, parking and location. Each room has a small kitchen. You have to walk about 10 minutes to get to the beach but the beach is lovely. They also provided us with, towels, chairs and an umbrella, at no charge. Pools were clean and refreshing. This is obviously a motel that has been here for many years but the remodel was lovely. Clean and convenient. Gabriella, at the Front Desk, was perfectly delightful.

"Beautiful Hotel With A Great View"
Stayed in the oceanfront 1 bedroom king bed suite. The room was absolutely beautiful with a lot of space. The shower is absolutely amazing. It had two shower heads. The tub was separate with spa jets. Plenty of closet space. It had two sliding doors with a huge balcony. The only problem I had was with room service. I wanted to surprise my other half with a slice of carrot cake for their birthday so I called for room service. While waiting we took a shower & watched a whole movie & it still never arrived. I called back to room service & she informed me that she told me it would take about 30 to 45 minutes for it to arrive, which by that time it had already passed. She put me on hold & checked on it. She then got back on the phone & told me it was headed out of the kitchen. After the call is waited another 35 minutes before I had to put on a robe & go downstairs to get it myself, which ruined the surprise I had planned. So I wasn't to happy about that but the rest of my stay was perfect.

"Fantastic Hotel Right on the Beach"
A colleague recommended the hotel and it lived up to - and even exceeded our expectations. The front desk staff greeted us promptly when we arrived. We stayed in an ocean front suite, and it was very spacious with high ceilings, large sleeping area, and a separate room with sofas/table/chairs set and another tv. The balcony looked right onto the ocean and we had gorgeous views of the coastline either direction we looked. The bathroom had complementary products in a mango coconut scent that was wonderful. The beach and pool staff were fabulous at greeting us when we’d enter and were prompt at providing chairs, umbrellas and towels. Even when the pool appeared packed, they would move lounge chairs around and make sure all guests had seats. We felt very pampered and were able to really relax. Both the pool and beach had a water pitcher with complementary fruit-infused ice cold water and cups which we really appreciated. The pool even had extra sunblock for guests to use. The gift shop had everything you could think of needing and even sorbet (as a vegan I appreciated this!) in addition to icecream. The woman who ran the shop was very friendly and helpful. We ate lunch at the hotel’s restaurant everyday and all the servers we had were friendly. The bar tenders were also excellent and gave us suggestions for things to do in town – although you can’t beat staying there and sitting on the rocking chairs and overlooking the ocean! Overall, we were very satisfied with everything!

"Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach"
This is a 2 year old hotel with a great beach vibe, great music everywhere and terrific room's and facilities. 2 great pool's on the ground level and an adult's only pool on the 11 the floor The room's are very nice, pastel's everywhere, fridge, coffee maker, nice balcony with 2 chair's, very nice bathroom with a rain shower,,over sized towels and the view's are to die for, facing the east or west id doesn't matter, the view's are great. The hotel looks great, the lobby is an upscale beach vibe, of course Jimmy Buffet's tee shirt store, a nice coffee shop, and overall I think this hotel is terrific. I hope to stay here again, it would be my pleasure.

    Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel Guide

The only constant in life is change. As we age, how we enjoy spending our downtime evolves. Sometimes, the places we visit change along with us. Ft. Lauderdale is one of those places. Gone are the days of rambunctious coeds cavorting in the streets. Like you, the city has grown up—matured, if you will—and now offers more sensible activities than spring break shenanigans. Today, Fort Lauderdale beach hotels like the Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club present an opportunity for you to vacation on your own terms with understated sophistication, unpresumptuous style, and impeccable hospitality. At this point in your life, your pulse-rate is quickened by the tug of a trophy tarpon on the end of your fishing line and the thought of morning yoga on a beach is much more enticing than a night hopping from club to club with your fellow rowdy revelers. And it is with that in mind that we’re here to answer your most pressing questions…

What are the best beaches near Fort Lauderdale ?

With nearly two dozen miles of sandy serenity and six beaches certified as Blue Wave by the Clean Beaches Council (list below), Fort Lauderdale has a sunny strip of shoreline to match your relaxation requirements:

    • Deerfield Beach: Soak up some rays, enjoy a dip in the Atlantic, or take a stroll on the pier at this cove-like beach.
    • Hollywood Beach: Fort Lauderdale oceanfront hotels, outdoor cafes, and Arts Park along the 2.5-mile boardwalk reflect the retro cool vibe of this palm tree-lined paradise.
    • Pompano Beach: If the warmest waters in the Gulf Stream aren’t inviting enough, nearby golf courses and horse racing tracks offer a different way to enjoy the Florida sunshine.
    • Lauderdale-by-the-Sea: Looking for a sleepy, laid back, low-key beach town where you can leave the rest of the world behind? This is just the spot.
    • Dania Beach: Enjoy the seclusion while you count the passing clouds at this picturesque coastal treasure.
    • Fort Lauderdale Beach: Nowhere has the change from wild party town to chic oceanfront destination become more evident than along the people-watching promenade on the city’s most famous beach.

Where should I go fishing in Fort Lauderdale?

Depending on your desired catch, there are multiple places to drop a hook. Fort Lauderdale hotels on the beach—like the Rodeway Inn & Suites —offer you an opportunity to cast your lure into the surf. But, if you want a better chance at landing a trophy for the mantle, we suggest the following fishing options:

    • Piers: Just a short distance from anywhere in the area, Deerfield and Dania Beach Ocean Park Piers provide stunning views of the surf and sand in between nibbles from below.
    • Back bays: Have a hankering for fresh flounder for dinner? Any of the docks along the harbors, sounds, and rivers that make up the Intercostal Waterway are perfect for finding tonight’s feast.
    • Lakes: Prefer freshwater bass instead? The county’s lakes are stocked with more than 200 species of freshwater fish, waiting to take the bait.
    • Deep Sea: With seasonal sailfish and sharks as well as year-round barracuda, mahi mahi, and snapper, you’ll have an open-sea challenge awaiting you no matter when you visit.

When you use Travelocity to book your stay in Fort Lauderdale, not only will you find a great selection of impressive hotels, you’ll also enjoy some significant savings. The money you save can go toward a delicious dinner at a coastal eatery, a kayak adventure on the Intracoastal Waterway, or a day on the links at a championship golf course. In another life, it would have been piercings, parties, and…possibly…regret.
