Description

Immerse yourself in the animal kingdom at Woodland Park Zoo, the 92-acre (37-ha) home to more than 1,100 animals and 300 species. The divided bioclimatic zones allow you to visit greater one-horned rhinos, African giraffes, and Asian small-clawed otters—among the newest residents.

Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted by the vast grasslands of a rural East African village, surrounded by hippos, giraffes, monkeys, and lions. Next, observe a family of orangutans and a group of unique Visayan warty pigs. Learn about some of the world’s most endangered species and discover what you can do to help protect them.

Pass the Raptor Center, home to some of the fastest animals on the planet such as the peregrine falcon. Arrive at the Northern Trail, a rugged terrain mimicking the habitat of Alaska’s tundra, and see the lively arctic foxes, brown bears, wolves, and elk. At the indoor, underwater viewing area you can watch the playful river otters before heading down under for a bird-feeding experience in Australasia.

For more adventure, check out the Zoomazium—a play space for exploring nature—or take a ride on a vintage carousel from 1918. With a variety of things to do and see, the Woodland Park Zoo is complete with natural-habitat exhibits, educational and conservation programs, and hands-on animal encounters.

Beautiful animals and if you don't want to spend 3 hours seeing the whole place you can get through it pretty quick. Lovely enclosures for the animals as well.

This was one of the best zoos I've ever been to. There was a lot to see. However, the best part was that it appears that the animals are well cared for and their habitats are some of the best I've ever seen!
