Description

The Uyuni Salt Flats tour is one of the greatest attractions of Bolivia. We will leave from Uyuni and during 3 days we will go through an amazing landscape, a white horizon that is lost in infinity. In the largest salt desert in the world we will visit such amazing places as the train cemetery, the cactus island (a unique ecosystem), the Eduardo Avaroa national reserve, the high plateau lagoons, the Siloli desert or the geysers field “Sol in the morning”, unforgettable landscapes that turn this area into a unique place in the world.

DAY 1 Uyuni - Train Cemetery - Refinery - Incahuasi Island - Salt Hotel

We will leave at 10:30 am from Uyuni and make our first stop at the train cemetery, where several abandoned old locomotives lie on the white ground, creating a very peculiar landscape. Then we will go to the Colchani village, where we will visit the salt museum and the salt refinery.

We will enter the salt desert at 12:00 pm and we will visit the salt heaps, the “ojos del salar” (small holes where you can see the underground water) and the fascinating hotel built solely with salt blocks. The next stop will be Incahuasi Island.

Later we will take a short walk and we will have lunch in the white plains. We will arrive at our accommodation, the Salt Hostel, at roughly 7:00 pm. During our way to the hostel we will have the chance to enjoy the wonderful in the salt flats. Once there, we will eat dinner together and spend the night.

DAY 2 San Juan - Eduardo Avaroa Park - Siloli Desert - Laguna Colorada

We will begin the day with an early breakfast in order to leave in the direction of the famous Laguna Colorada, one of the largest and most scenic lagoons in the salt flats. We will reach the Eduardo Avaroa national park passing through the Siloli Desert. Finally, we will reach the Laguna Colorada, inhabited by 3 different species of flamingos.

DAY 3 Sol de la Mañana - Hot Springs - Salvador Dalí desert - Laguna Verde - Uyuni

We will get up very early to start the journey to the “Sol de la Mañana” geyser field. The trip continues to the hot springs where we can swim in a pool of natural thermal water. After the swim we will go to the Salvador Dalí desert and visit the Green and White Lagoons.

At this point we have two options: take another vehicle that will lead us to the center of San Pedro de Atacama or start the road back to Uyuni that crosses the Black Laggon and the valley of rocks.
