Description

Visit the unforgettable Teide National Park, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. This spectacular visual landscape is high in altitude, but provides oxygen for the soul, providing no shortage of interesting rock formations, rare plant species, and more to earn its popular reputation.

Ascend above the island's clouds at over 6,500 feet (2,000 m). Pass through mountain villages and hear about their fascinating history from your knowledgeable guide. As you climb higher, first you travel through beautiful pine forests, which are thick and humid, and play a major role in retaining the island's water supply. Suddenly the volcano's plateau opens before you, a surreal moonscape of volcanic stone. It's clear why several films have been shot here, including Planet of the Apes and Clash of the Titans.

Spend time taking in the stunning scenery, or choose to ride the cable car to the top of the volcano. At the end of your trip, descend out of the park, memories of Mount Teide remaining with you forever.

During the 6 hour trip we only spend 90 minutes actually out of the bus in the National park. Given the cable cars leave every 15 minutes some people only had 10 minutes at the summit before having to come down as there were lengthy queues to get on the cable cars. A lot of the trip was spent driving round picking up people and 2 stops at cafes- one of which was horribly dirty. We had to change bus 3 times to get to and from the National Park which was annoying given we had a 12 week old baby with us. I’d suggest if there are two or more of you then to rent a car for the day and it would be cheaper, you would be able to spend a decent amount of time at the park and also can stop at the many beautiful areas to take photos, which we didn’t have the option of.

We enjoyed our trip and it's worth doing, however, there is a lot of time spent in the bus so it could have done with air-conditioning that actually worked! The lack of air conditioning made the traveling hard going. The volcano itself and the stops in the local villages were worthwhile.

The volcano was a fantastic experience to see the third tallest active volcano in the world. Long pick up other hotels meant a half day trip didn’t finish until 3:30 pm. Staff spoke three languages but didn’t particularly interact Apart from giving standard information.
