Description

Travel out of Paris into the fairytale countryside of the Loire Valley. In an intimate group of no more than 8, you visit the 16th-century Chambord Castle, enjoy winetasting at 2 vineyards in Vouvray, and dine on a gourmet meal paired with fine French wine.

Embark on a breathtaking journey into the Loire Valley. Sit back and relax as you travel south out of the city, gazing out upon views of green fields and charming cottages as you snack on a flaky croissant.

Your first stop of the day is the majestic Chambord Castle, one of the most recognized châteaux in the world thanks to its stunning blend of traditional medieval and classical Renaissance architecture. With an audio guide to lead the way, travel back in time to the 16th-century as you learn the secrets and stories that are held behind these walls.

Continue south into wine country, listening as your guide shares history of the region and its world-renowned wine. Admire the picturesque landscape as you cruise your way past sprawling vineyards lined with grapes such as sauvignon blanc and cabernet franc. Soon, you arrive in Vouvray, where you settle in for lunch at a family-run estate. Enjoy traditional French cuisine and samples of wine to pair with each dish.

Your day concludes with a visit to another Vouvray vineyard, where you're treated to a taste of wines largely unavailable in the rest of the world. Sip and savor sweet whites, bold reds, and bright bubblies before making the drive back to Paris

The day was perfect, our guides Chloe & Mathilde were personable, fun, and super informative, the best. We are also very appreciative to the company providing the tour because as it turned out my wife and I were the only two on the tour and the company did not cancel so not to disappoint us. The day started with Chloe and Mathilde picking us up at our Paris hotel and driving us to Chambord Castle where we spent an hour touring the inside of the Castle. We then drove to a beautiful restaurant built into the side of a mountain where we enjoyed a liesurely authentic French meal and sampled several wines. From there we went to a vineyard where we toured one of the oldest caves in the country then sampled their multiple wine varieties. At the end of our tasting we headed back to Paris. All in all, a lot of driving but well worth the time!
